Visited here in early November '17 on a Saturday night close to last call, no problem, they were happy to serve us. Big, wide open space with large high top tables interspersed, also have an outdoor space, One large TV inside tuned to a game. Have about 15 or so of theirs on tap; all of the regulars and a few one-offs, All priced at $5 per serving which is nice, Nice to see the tap rooms in Georgia can now operate more freely without all of those silly tour laws,
Large brewery and taproom on the edge of town. Tours Wed-Sun. $12 for a souvenir glass and 36oz of samples (6 tickets for 6oz each). Four tap stations with around 10-12 selections (including some special limted ones) available -- all house brews, Beer ranges from good to very good. Some of the servers knew their beer well and could answer questions, others not so well. Cask Night on Wednesdays, with special one-off versions (barreled stuff, special hop, etc.). Friendly vibe. Can get crowded and noisy -- Athens is a college town, and the crowd is mostly very young. Large grassy area out back, with tables, a live music stage, and an additional tap station. Definitely a place to visit when in the area.
Great place to hang out on a sunny day. Lots of beer for your dollar. Great vibe. No frills. Beer. Music. Dogs. Play baggo or Frisbee if you want. Friendly knowledgeable staff that is eager to talk about their beer. Always a couple of one offs available as well. Gift shop.
Limited hours but worth the stop. You can get in on a tour that gives you a glass and 8 5 oz pours of pour. Skip the tour and just head out back for the pours which are served in a big open yard with cornhole, volleyball and live music. Would be a cool spot to host some party. Worth stopping by if you can fit in between the hours.
Giant warehouse brewery, almost in the middle of nowhere, but close enough to Athens to get huge college crowds. For the Saturday tour during Mardi Gras it took nearly an hour tonget in. But then, decent beers, good music set up in a tent outside, and good crowds. Worth the effort.
Only gets knocked for its selection due to the fact that they can’t serve that many different beers during the "tour". However, had a great time at a hell of a value. $10 for 8 half pours all while enjoying a Phish cover band on a beautiful day. They didn’t have anything too special the day I was there, but still great fun.
While there were no rarities on tap, there was a solid 6 beers available to choose from The ambiance is lively and fun. I like the beer garden outside as well as the interior tasting room. The tour was pretty fun, with some factoids revealed about Terrapin Beer Company. It’s 10 bucks for a glass and 8 tickets which can get you 8 half pours of brew. Great deal. I had such a fun time I’d love to come back and do it again. Next time I’ll bring some extra cash to purchase some of the really cool merchandise in the gift shop. They have some pretty bitchin’ swag.
