We visited Teuchters Landings Sunday 20th March 2016. The we being me, Dad and Barry as the three of us were on a weekend jaunt up to Edinburgh. This is located a short walk from the centre of Leith looking out on the water, across to the left are the Scottish government buildings.

It is a rather quaint place appearing a little ramshackle on first appearance but inside anything but. The first room you enter is a good sized bar room rectangular in shape and laid out horizontally with the bar off to the RH side. There are some tables and chairs off to the LH side, it has a cosy welcoming feel to it. Beyond this room are two further rooms the next room is smaller and in fact is split into two the left hand one of these is really quite private. Some fascinating old aerial photos adorn the walls and show this area before the large scale renovation and tidying up that has gone on in recent years. A further conservatory type building is slotted onto the rear and affords some waterside views, this room was by far the busiest on our visit as many were eating here. Further seating outside by the water would probably be popular in the summer months, though one hardy couple took advantage of the spring sunshine and ate out here today.

The beer selection was pretty good, ok it wasn’t amazing, however it did offer a good range of some local beers and I managed to find a couple of new beers to me. I rather liked this place and would strongly suggest any beery nip out to Leith should include this amongst the itinerary.

Waterside pub on Leith Docks. A world away from Edinburgh city centre, this is still a relaxing and beer-aware pub. Several rooms to choose from, including one in the back overlooking the water. Piped music but I don’t mind. Some old-fashioned tunes (what we Americans might call AOR). A few interesting casks, including one from the innovative and the local Pilot, with a handful of craft keg taps and some bottles which are new to me.

Couple of interesting beers, usually pretty busy with local work folk.
