New location, and my goodness, what a change it has made. The selection is still is solid and beer centric as it previously was. Still focused on singles, and local brews. Only now, it is all housed in a tastefully decorated, beautiful store. Service was attentive, knowledgeable and not over-bearing. An improved shopping experience is the upside - the downside is that prices (particularly 12 oz singles) seem to have gone up.

Tiny little shop in a ratty strip mall in St Louis Park. Like a lot of these small beer only shops, the service was friendly and helpful. The guy stated it was his first day working at the shop, but it most certainly was not his first day around craft beer, he knew his stuff. They have a nice selection of local beers singled out, and a decent array of craft beers from around the world. I think this would be a great place to shop if you were local. If you are visiting from out of town, some of the bigger shops in Minneapolis may have more of interest for you. I grew up near this area, so it was good to see something of quality popping up around here.
82 = ★★★½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Just got to the new location - absolutely beautiful. Well done, Alvey! Tons of beer signage & memorabilia, a tasting booth, very nice selection of singles for mix-and-match, LED lit coolers, and a great checkout counter. Huge overall selection. The store is done up in a dark wooden theme, and its stunning. Definitely a beer experience you don’t want to miss. You will pay a little more than some other places, but the ambiance and service (all staff seem extremely knowledgable) helps close that gap.
An amazing store the focuses just on beer (with some mead and cider). A pub like feel with shelves of beer surrounding a central register. A small area with beer books and beer memorabilia as well. A small bar called the convicts pint for special firkin tastings and samples. Great selection as I have found a few rarities here already! Service is great as everyone is very knowledgeable. Prices are not too shabby as well. What a great store!

A very nice store. Lots of beery decoration throughout. Maybe the best glassware selection in Minnesota. Very small, but good selection. You can build your own six pack for $10, which isn’t a bargain considering what they have to choose from on the singles table. Prices are high, probably the highest I have seen in the Twin Cities. This make some sense considering the location, but this shopper very often buys the beer that is a bargain. Staff or owner, I’m not sure which, was very friendly and offered me fresh Furious from his growler. Good selection, a few things I haven’t seen in MN, or haven’t seen for a long time. I will be back.
After having frequented the original location, I’ve been to the new place a number of times. I recently purchased two-5 gallong kegs and worked with a very helpful employee, Mike, who was able to give me the run down on what they could get. The selection has improved measurably even since the new location opened. Although I’m still not convinced they are competing with Blue Max for the truly hard to find beers, they do a very nice job. Beers are organized on shelves by style, which is generally better than by brewer, although if you’re trying to find a number of beers by a particular brewer you may need some assistance. Everything in the store is available in a single bottle, which is very nice. Definitely a beer geek destination.
Excellent store though the selection is not unmatched by other top quality places. The staff did their best to answer a very specific question I had. The glassware and small library section is especially cool, and the selection of brewery-produced spirits adds a small touch to set this place apart.

Finally made it over here earlier today and wow. I was lucky to get a parking spot out front, it was limited; however there was parking in back according to a sign. This was a great craft beer store that was done up right. Empty bottles of rare beers along the walls, decor was very pleasant, and glassware accompanied some of the beers. Only downside was prices, I noticed some that were $1 more per single than other places in town. I will come here for the harder to find items, but not regular shopping because of that. Overall, one of best stores in the Twin Cities.
Very nice little beer shop! Great selection of everything local to import. Huge area of make your own 6 pack. Great service by the staff. The prices seemed fair - not great, but fair/average. Certainly worth a stop if you are in the area.
Awesome beer selection with hundreds of bottles, mixed 6 packs and great service. One of the best beer stores in the state for sure.
Also, awesome history of MN beer stuff with cool breweriana and other collectibles!
Very cool vibe in this place - wooden shelves line the walls filled with brews. They are seperated by style which is nice. The manager was knowledgable and friendly. He even pointed me in the direction of a restuarant with a good tap list.
