This place is awesome - all sorts of beers here that you would hard pressed to find elsewhere in town (or many other places in the country for that matter). Grab an employee and have them help you pick out some beers you might like. Save your itemized receipt, bring it back, and let them know which ones you liked and which ones you didn’t - they’ll then help you pick out more based on what you like.
Awesome store. I like the make your own 6 pack option for basically any bottle. Unmatched selection, service and atmosphere. Prices are fairly good, but high in some regards to the competition - $1 more a 4 or 6 pack in some instances.
I’ll admit, I’ve been a pretty big fan of this place since they opened. Although the store is small, there’s always a immense unique selection of rotating beers from the midwest and beyond. Prices might be just slightly above the average, but I’m always happy to pay an extra 50 cents for a place that truly represents the best that craft beer has to offer. Service is always top notch, beer is always fresh, my only complaint is some of their limited stuff sells out before I can get there!
The store itself is pretty small for now but you’d never know it if you saw their selection. The Four Firkens has more different microbrews than all the other liquor stores I’ve been to combined and that’s not exaggerating.
Alvey is a super nice guy who goes beyond the call of duty to help you with your beer needs.
If you want to try something new that your friends have never heard of, the guys at this store can set you up.
This store is a must visit for any real fan of beer.
This place is GREAT. Avery is the man!!! They are so cool and knowledgable and you gotta love a place that offers you a taste of a beer when you first walk in the door. This is a must stop if you are in the cities. The store is tiny but they make use of every inch. They have local micros (Surly) and a large number of imports. They also take pick up orders. I recommend this place to any friends coming to visit me and flying into the twin cities.
