This is really a cheese shop with a small but interesting beer selection. Lots of local stuff. Prices are on the high side. Street parking. Easy walking distance from Amtrak. One knowledgeable beer guy. Everything you need for a proper tasting is here.

Located in beautiful downtown Culpeper. At first I walked into the Frenchman’s "Corner" which is right next door, but does not have any beers to go with the fabulous looking chocolates. Frenchman’s cellar, on the other hand, has a decently sized selection with a smattering of more common foreign beers, lots of local stuff and a decent mead and cider selection. Prices were a touch high. Growler fills are also very high, but they do flights and pints and they gave me a couple samples for free. Service was a tad bit standoffish but prettty good. Ambiance typical of a downtown boutique store... bright and open. Not worth going out of your way for, but decent if you find yourself in Culpeper.

The below review clearly isn’t spam, right? Anyway, the Cellar’s a nice little wine shop located in scenic downtown Culpeper. Excellent cheese selection. There’s also 8 taps available for pours or growler fills. The beer selection’s definitely a bit off-beat. The US stuff isn’t all that interesting, and I wasn’t impressed by the lack of local beer. The international stuff, however, is pretty cool. There were some legitimately arcane beers on offer from Italy and France. Prices weren’t too bad. Overall, come for the cheese. The beers are secondary.

This is a fabulous little shop in downtown Culpeper. The Cellar has just recently been added to the Frenchman’s Corner and is still expanding and refining its beer selection. Jeffrey Mitchel at the beer counter is personable and great to talk to about beers you’d like to try or like to see on the shelves!
