Fresh Market always carries a good variety of beer that is under 6% (because in TN you can’t get that beer in the liquor stores/beer stores). Only problem is they aren’t here to help you pick your beer. Know what you want. They let you mix and match.

This is a very nice store. It’s a bit more upscale than most of the Whole Foods I’ve been to, and their beer selection is definitely better than the Memphis Whole Foods. I’ve never asked for help with the beer, so I don’t know how knowledgeable the staff are, but all of the workers have been friendly when I’ve gone.

The selection is somewhat limited due to TN’s beer laws (over 6% ABV has to be sold in a liquor store), but the selection and price are fairly good for this area. They’ve got a number of Samuel Smith’s and Rogue beers in large bottles, and their custom six pack has a pretty good, if a little boring, selection of Sierra Nevadas, Harpoon and other larger microbrews. They’ve also got a decent number of Euro-lagers (Urquell, Budvar, Birra Moretti, etc). Their seasonals are usually limited to a few different Sierra Nevadas and the like.

They rarely rotate the stock. So, after a few visits, it does stagnate and become a bit boring. Still, it’s a fairly decent place to shop and get some of the more popular craft/imports out there.
