my hometown bar. i don’t go anywhere else to drink. so the parking is bad... if you live here you accept it and move on. if you happend to stop by on a sunday night you’ll be in for a treat. Mug night, where the slogan reads... good beer, good food, good people, bad parking.

My wife and I ate at the Green Leafe last June during our summer vacation. The food was great. The ambiance was very nice, too. There was a mixture of college kids, businessmen wearing suits trying to nab a young chick, and families. The Green Leafe has tons of local beers, and you can sample any of them. It was here that I discovered Tupper’s, Mobjack, Dominion, Sweet Water, Williamsburg, and St. George beers. I’d say I had one of the best samplers in history, and I can’t wait to get back there this June and try some more. This is a great place.
The place to go in town for good beer, especially Virginia beers. Nice, laid back atmosphere (but bear in mind that the college directly across the street was on break). Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Diverse, friendly clientel. Centrally located (near the historic area). Did not eat here but wish we had (the steakhouse we chose left a lot to be desired). Would definitely go back if in the area again. Passed a second location while headed towards Jamestown, but didn’t have a chance to stop. Does anyone know it the selection is as good?
Hey this place wasn’t too shabby. Their ale selection wasn’t mind boggling, but it was extremely adequate. I especially liked the focus on VA beers (Tuppers, Dominion, Legend). Even better, I was their for Mon (selected micros for $2) and Tues (all VA 16 oz drafts for $1 till 9pm). Other than their wanting to serve over-chilled ale in frozen glasses this place was darn good.
Located right next to the William and Mary campus. Very much a pub atmosphere. Friendly staff with a nice beer selection and some great specials. If I lived closer, I’d probably spend quite a bit of time here.
I’m extremely biased when it comes to rating this place mainly because I spent four wonderful college years living in this bar. This place is absolutely great, especially if you go during off-peak hours to avoid the crowds and noise (NEVER GO ON A SUNDAY NIGHT). Tuesdays are typically the best days to go if you are a fan of VA beers because all pitchers of draft VA beers are just 5 bucks! There burgers are good and their entrees are great. Service quality fluctuates based on extremely high turnover rate. This is a MUST for anyone traveling through Williamsburg
