Had an old review that I'm deleting as it's no longer really valid.
Big space with a lot of bar seating as well as some normal tables and a few high-tops. Lots of sports stuff on the walls, lots of TVs, and a bunch of surf boards hung up because San Diego...I guess. Get the impression this is more of a sports bar than it is just a beer place or restaurant. Full bar in addition to the beers. Their draft list was pretty decent. Mostly local, San Diego stuff of course, including some of the "house" beers from Resident Brewing.
Didn't really peruse the food menu at all. Wasn't really a meal time either, so I don't think I happened to spot anyone's food. Service was good, though it was slow so I would hope so.
I probably wouldn't say to come out of your way to go to this place, but they have the house beers/brewery here and a good enough taplist, so worth a shot if you're in the area.

Pretty good place with pretty good. My glass wasn’t clean and the servers don’t know beer real well but a lot of really good options, prices were fine and the food was tasty.
Pretty good beer bar - has 20 taps and offers good mexican food. Good place to start a night out and stumble down 5th ave to gaslamp. Also good for watching sports and will accommodate a request for a certain game as theres that many TVs

The Local isn’t an exception and has an above average beer list, but it isn’t good enough to write home about. Local taps from Ballast Point, Port, Coronado, Hess, etc. However, their paper menu, chalkboard menu, and what was really on tap did not match up; so it was hard to find a beer to choose. Served in shaker pints only. Food was okay, everyone ordered a gigantic burrito that was totally insane. Tasted pretty good too. Still, not a beer venue foremost.
Stopped in here on a Monday afternoon while in town. Nice little spot set a bit far away from the main Gaslamp area. 16 taps with interesting barrel aged stuff from Ballast Point and Coronado, some Societe and Stone on tap, and a decent bottle selection. All local of course. They'll do flights of their on tap brews so that was nice and I got to try some extra beers that way. Bartender was very friendly and had plenty to say about the beers they had. Nice place and seems to be doing this beer thing right. Did not get a chance to try food though. Definitely stop in here if you are downtown.
An odd pairing of ambiance and great local draft selection. The vibe is douchey, but they had both Societe and Modern Times on here, as well as at least three other local breweries I didn’t see at any of the other downtown stops. The server was very friendly and quick. I love the custom sampler options and the price was good. Will be heading back during my stay.
This is a large place that could hold a lot of people and I’d imagine that it does fill up on occasion but it was pretty quiet when I was there. Decent tap list but nothing speicial. Maybe next time I’ll eat next door at Yard House and come over here for a Mongo. Actually they had a good amount of local taps, which is neat and really only works well in a place like San Diego with a lot of good beer to pick from.
