When you first walk in the door you are a little taken back by the selection. This bar pretty much has all the rare beers that are hard to find. The staff if very knowledgeable and will talk your ear off about the beer you are drinking. All beer are served in their proper glass which again is a great plus as you get to fully enjoy the beer that you are drinking. The value is reasonable for what you are buying. You can only use a credit card if you are putting more then 25 bones on it. But that isn’t that hard to do here. I love the décor of the place as it is maps from all over. Great stop if you are rare beer lover and enjoy talking about beer with other people.
Nice place. Maps, flags, books, breweriana everywhere. Long and deep. Bright and dark. Whether you are working or hanging out this is a good place. No food, though there’s some options in the neighborhood. Ten minute walk from the Blue Line. Well curated tap list. Huge bottle list with a few rarities. Bartender is friendly and handling a busy place well by herself. No flights but 10 ounce pours. Prices solid. I’d be here frequently if I were local.
A light Tuesday afternoon. Not many people in there but the barkeep handed me a beer menu as I walked in. She was courteous in the beer selections and helped me get to my next location. A few colorful patrons were very welcoming. What I like in a bar. Surly Furious on a beer engine. So tasty.
A favorite of mine for the past 10 years. The selection is pretty large, and changes constantly. I’ve always been able to find something new to drink here. Pricing is reasonable, parking is easy enough to find, and it’s a comfortable place to be.
A few minutes walk from the blue line el station. The tap slection was about 10 crafts and 10 imports which is not huge but they have loads of bottles. Also serving up fresh brewed coffee all day. $3 bottomless cups! Great look inside with all the flags and ancient national geographics about. Prices are pretty decent for Chicago and staff is friendly and talkative. Nice stop while exploring the windy city.
One of my favorite beer bars. The selection is always great and it has a "dive bar" feel. A little too hipster, but that isn’t their fault so I won’t ding them for that. Staff isn’t the friendliest group, but they aren’t assholes either.
