Along with Jungle Jims and Dilly Deli, the Party Source is one of Cincinnati’s trio of essential longtime beer purveyors. Located just across the river in Kentucky, it has served the tri-state area as a one-stop shopping alcohol heaven. First of all, the liquor and wine selections are huge (if you like whiskey, this place is a must). The beer selection is very comparable to Jungle Jims, with slightly more emphasis on imports. There is a very large selection of singles, especially in the cold Beer Cave. The Party Source also has a few beers that cannot be sold in Ohio due to the 12% alcohol cap (e.g. Avery Mephistopheles, and Dogfish Head 120 min. and World Wide Stout). And finally there is a growler station with seven taps of mostly craft beers. Although it no longer has the lower prices it seemed to have years ago, the Party Source is a necessary stop for Cincinnati area craft beer seekers.

(Visited 02/2008): Party Source is right across the river from Cincy in Bellevue, KY. They have a large private parking lot out front. The overall feel of the exterior is a grocery store. The interior of the store stays with the theme, and it is an agonizing walk past aisles of party supplies, wine and liquor before getting to the far end of the store where the beer is. There is a growler station and kegs at the front, room temperature beer shelves in the middle, and cold beer in the back. Good selection of glassware too. The beer selection is excellent. The growlers included goodies from DFH, Chimay, Moerlein etc. As for bottles they carry a staggering array of beers both in singles and packs from Schlafly, Bell’s, Moerlein, Lexington, BBC, Mt. Carmel, etc. A great selection of imports from the UK, Belgium, Germany is represented too. Literally too many beers to list. The only possible problem with this is some stock looks like it might sit a little longer than it should, and some items are haphazardly stacked around in odd places. Service here is very good. An employee pointed us to the beer section before we asked, and the staff was very helpful in tracking down specific beers and filling growlers. No complaints there. All in all this is an absolute must-visit for anyone who finds themselves within a 2-hour radius of Cincinnati for any reason.

Big place with a big selection of beer, wine, and liquor. Lots of room and is set up more like a grocery store that revolves around alcohol. Prices are decent but I’ve seen better. Good place to fill in the beer selection gaps.

They have an unbelievable beer selection from around the world. They even have a tapping station where they will pour you a jug to take home. My only issue was the cashier. He was rude and could care less if I bought anything or not, but everyone is entittled to a bad day. I go here a lot and I have never had any other issues.

Holy Christ on a bike, this is beer selection heaven. Imagine a (insert HUGE wholesale store here ((Sams, Costco))) and an entire wall the length of the store was all beer. Almost every beer I could ever want was represented here. Half way back it even became a cooler filled with 6packs, singles and kegs. I want to be buried here.

A huge party supply store. Specializing in anything you would need for a party. They have an extensive wine and liquor section. Cooking classes, party favors, etc. The back corner of the store hosts all their beer. They have an entire wall full of sixers and bombers. Probably 150 feet long! Separated by imports, then bombers, then sixers. They have a walk in beer cave that has the same beers but broken out for single purchases. They also have 4-6 rotating taps for growler fills. A must stop if in the downtown Cincy area.

This place has a huge selection and offers higher ABV beers that aren’t always available in Ohio. This is the place I go for 120 Min IPA and sometimes World Wide Stout (when in stock). However, they are missing a few essential brewers that must not be readily distributed in KY, such as Three Floyds.

I swung by here with some time to kill and headed immediately for the back cooler. An expansive selection of local, regional and national breweries is available ranging from Mt Carmel growlers to Goose Island BCS to Bison and Sierra Nevada. One suprise was a growler of Stephen Foster’s Traditional Wheat which I would have picked up if I knew what shape it was in. Overall the selection and prices (no tax in Kentucky!) make this a must stop but be aware of the age of some of the beers outside the cooler area.

Great selection and prices along with a few rarities. Everything available as singles and many of them refrigerated. They have a ridiculous keg selection as well. Many of the best beers in the midwest can be found here.
