Big place but filled with loud people, who arenít even there to drink beer! Why would anyone go to a brewpub, sit at the bar and just sip water with a wedge of lemon? The beer was not too bad although there was a very strong similarity between most Iíve tasted. Amazeballs and Stoaked were fine though. Food was horrible, I asked for meat plate and almost got salt poisoning. The duck proscuiotto was smothered with salt. Anyway, gone there, had my ticks, probably not again.
Very cosy pub with an interesting , rather industrial interior . Staff was above helpfull and knowledgeable ( since it appear to be brewers here themselves ) , and were very friendly . The menu contains some of their own fine beers, plus a few guests ( 4 at the time ) that are also pretty damn good . Also one cask that is filled up every thursday with an experimental beer . Very nice place and I really enjoyed it !
Stopped by on my way to a friendís house in western CT, and man what a worthy detour. Very cool layout, industrial feel, only got the house pretzel to snack on but it was great and the menu looked legit. Beers were very good, ranging from one of the better California Commons Iíve had to an absolutely outstanding APA. Friendly, attentive bartenders. I can imagine it could get a bit raucous, but we got here around 4 and it was perfect. Great experience.
Holy loud. The ambiance is concrete, with lots of people jammed into a small place. Sounds like an aircraft hangar -- with the planeís engines at full bore.
Helpful, knowledgable barkeeps. A range of Peekskill beers with a hard lean toward ales (of fairly average craft quality). Maybe the best food Iíve ever had in a small brewpub? Itís certainly up there.
But, sadly, I had a noise headache after 20 minutes. So, no.
Bright, clean new brewpub. Split level design with the taproom downstairs and more of a restaurant feel upstairs. Service is friendly--although they do get distracted somewhat easily. Beer selection is quite good--consisting of their house beers (which tend to tilt towards the hoppy side of things) and a few guest drafts. Some days the selection can be a bit skewed and not have all of the bases covered. Food has been decent in my experience (I dig the fries). Prices are reasonable and you can get half-pint pours. Overall, I look forward to stopping in here when I pass through Westchester County.
I stopped by the Peekskill Brewery while in the area for work. I really stopped in to try what Chief has brewing in his kettles.
A: Decent place to drink, the building in the shape of a L and has the dining on one side and the bar on the other side of the shape. The bar area holds about 15 -18 patrons at the bar and has another 10-12 tables surrounding.
Q: I had three on site beers and they were all really good, very well carbonated, and well balanced. I only wish I had time to stay and drink more.
S: The bartenders were decent and were well informed....even to the point where they tapped a new beer and all tried it and described the taste to each other.
S: They had 7 in house taps, 9 guest taps and had a bunch of good bottles in their coolers. The selection between the beers was a wide array and of good variety and taste.
F: I ordered the PB Burger with Parm/Lemon Fries...the burger was decent, the fries were over cooked. The food was average but very over priced for the quality and quantity. Do not recommend eating here.
V: The beers were all roughly $6/pint which is somewhat high to mose places. Although the beers were good, they were pricey compared to most brewpubs along the eastern new york area. And I wont even get into the food (see F:)
Overall, a decent place, great beer, mediocre food which was over priced. Go to Drink, not to eat.
This is located in scenic Peekskill near the river. The main level is bar seating with another bar and full restaurant seating upstairs. We opted for upstairs as the bar was quite full on this Saturday night. No less than two well-trained servers kept our table clean, our glasses full, and made us feel like welcome guests. Our food choices were difficult to make from their small, yet varied menu, and our selections did not disappoint. This is worthy of an out-of-state drive for the food, beer, and atmosphere. After dinner, we retreated to the bar below and conversed with a few locals while enjoying more fine beverages.
