Great vibe in cool airy setting. West Loop location in the meat packing district. Everyone from the host to the server to the bar tender was perfectly polished. Beer menu is not extensive, but well thought-out with excellent choices. Servers are required to have passed the Cicerone certified beer server exam. Servers were well versed in their beers and knowledgeable about the food as well...which was excellent. Beer was very reasonable. Food was somewhat expensive, but definitely worth it. Go here.
Odd bar setup. Only was here once for beer, they have their own lambic blend from lindemans. That is about it, smaller selection, ive heard the food is decent. Put it this way unless you are hunting for a rare lambic tick it isnít a place to come drink.
Superb restaurant located on the west side of the Loop. Super dťcor with large wooden table, close booth and plenty of standing room with an open view on the kitchen. Beer selection isnít the largest but very beer is well chosen and fresh Lindemans lambic is quite the treat. The food is just about incredible with some of the best chicken and fried I have had the chance to eat. Waiter are super nice and they know their menus.
Very brightly lit, extravagantly designed place with a distinctly high-society feel, and most everything else about this restaurant also reflects this. The unconventional bar is made up of dining-style seating that is low to the ground, while the bartender serves you from what feels like two steps above. Though this to me was very awkward and uncomfortable, the service was excellent. The beer selection is solid, and the prices are of course high. Given the meat-centric foundation of the place, it was fun to be surprised by the incredible creativity and quality of the vegetarian dishes here. That they cannot offer a comfortable bar experience for my preference is my only issue with this phenomenal restaurant.
Really great food goes along with a pretty darn nice draft list here. We really enjoyed our visit. Reservations are recommended. Prices arenít great, but I didnít think they were terrible either. Pretty much what I expected.
After waiting about 45 minutes in the lobby, I realized they had forgotten about me. Once I got seated at the bar, the service was tremendous. The bartender not only was helpful but gave me lots of tasters including a couple beers that werenít even on the tap list. The food was excellent and the building itself was beautiful. Large, solid wood chairs, hard wood tables, excellent aesthetic.
Hung out here with my boy Chino last night. The place was packed and it was Wednesday night. John Cusack was sitting 20 feet away from us, so that was cool. My buddy taking his picture with his flash on was lame, but we got a good laugh. Beer list was solid, but expensive. GI Gillian bottle for $65, really? Food was amazing.
Initially brought me the wrong beer and waiter disappeared. However, rest of waitstaff seemed to be working hard and had a cicerone there when I was there even though I didnít speak to her. Food was excellent and creative, although expensive. Seating was more cramped and crowded feeling than it looks in photos. High quality beer list but not much I hadnít had before. Some of the best beers of Europe, but again, if your a serious beer geek you probably wonít find anything new. They do offer their own lambic blend which I found interesting, although I did not try it (too pricey and not a huge lambic fan).
