Stuck out in the middle of nowhere and a good distance from the city centre, this place really has something for everyone. There are 13 quality Aussie beers on tap and a good food selection too. A traditional old skool Aussie bar with brown painted brick walls and well worn off white floor tiles. They have high tables, low tables and super low tables with leather sofas. A family oriented bar that caters for everyone. The food was great and I swear I ate half a cow for Sunday lunch. Excellent service and working wifi. Just down the road from Mountain Goat, so why not do them both together?

The food was average but the beer selection is good. A bit pricey. Nice place, not my favorite but I tend to come by every now and then.
The focus of this place is on good beer. The bar itself is nothing special, essentially a small modern suburban bar. It doesn’t have any of the fakery of many mainstream craft beer pubs. It does convey an authentic feeling if a bar for great beer. The staff are friendly. There’s a good vibe / atmosphere with quiet good music. There were 6-7 regular beers on tap and 6-7 guest beers on tap. I assume there we bottle too, but didn’t explore that. The range on tap was broad and good. The food looked good, but I didn’t try it. A bit off the beaten track for a regular watering hole, but well worthwhile the visit if you are nearby.
Visited on July 31, 2013. Got here to relax and eat before heading to Mountain Goat. Ate the goulash, tasty. Counted 13 taps. Some music was playing, not too loud though. Had two draught and one bottled beer. Pretty quiet place this day. Got there just before they closed the kitchen. Not I’d head out this way if it wasn’t for Mountain Goat across the street, but seems like a nice quiet place to enjoy a few craft beers.
great pub just down the road from mountain goat brewery. great selection of aussie craft beers including australias number 1 beer- feral hop hog! good selection of international craft in bottles. rounded off my slow beer, mountain goat beer tour just nicely!
Sort of a weird place across the street from Mt Goat brewery. Inside is a typical pub with sort of depressing decor and dreary atmosphere. Tap list was pretty extensive and craft beer focused with one or two macros. I found one beer here from Little Creatures that I didn’t see anywhere else in Melbourne. Taps seem to rotate fairly often. Might be worth checking out before or after being at Mt Goat and hanging out. Not at the same level as Local Taphouse in St Kilda, but I see no reason to not stop by if you are on your way to Mountain Goat.
Looks a little old on the inside, but plenty of character and a place you feel comfortable sitting down for a couple of beers.

The tap list was lackluster on my visit but made up with some nice beer in the fridge. Nice pub though and I’m sure they do get some interesting beers on tap every now and then, but maybe I’m just too fussy. It’s so close to Mountain Goat that it’s a must visit when in the area. November 2009 - What can I say? Great tap list on this visit that alone made the trip worthwhile. It really depends on each visit how this place will leave an impression.

Pleasant little pub tucked away near the Mountain Goat brewery. Not much wrong with this place, its cosy, the beers are great (most Victorian micros + red oak on tap), everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Food is great pub grub. Probably the best place in Victoria for beer as of 07’.
