Popular locals pub, closest to the Railway Station for us on this visit. Welcoming, friendly and warm on a bitterly cold afternoon. Although an Everards pub there seems to be a good guest beer policy going on. There is a conservatory at the back, pleasant on a summers day I would imagine. The Pork Pie was excellent and the beer well kept. Well worth a visit.

Visited on 31/10/12 - for the first time! Had been aware of this pub since 2004 and it has been in and out of the GBG (as a Charles Wells tied house) for a number of years. Recently refurbished and taken over in a partnership between Everards and Banks & Taylor! Nice interior of wooden and tiled floors with a mix of seating from large leather benches built into the bay windows, to a hotch potch of wooden chairs, stools and tables. Large central bar, open planned but in effect 3 or 4 rooms. Place was pretty quiet so ambiance set at 3. Service prompt and friendly. As well as beers from B&T and Everards, guests were from Hopdaemon, Salopian, Irwell works, Newmans and O’Halons. Board on the bar with clips of the upcoming beers counting in at well over a dozen. I really liked this place and hope it does well. Will definately be back on my next trip to Rugby.
