We wandered in on the way from Lords to Marylebone; middle of a Saturday afternoon with the Euros on & no-one else there, which is astonishing in London. However, we could soon see why. The bar staff didn’t seem that interested in serving, and didn’t have any trucks with smiles or chat. The three real ales were not that interesting and not in great condition. Although the pub had clearly been refurbished not too long ago, it was already descending into that slightly musty torpor associated with a three-old-fellas-a-night-back-street-local. But without the charm of a back street local. We sat outside on one of the few pavement tables; they’re right next to a main road, but still had a little more atmosphere than the inside. It’s a pretty grotty place. I wouldn’t return.

Have visited a few times on the way back from a day at the test, most recently in 2010. Always busy - due to the cricket, but have usually got served fairly pronto and pitched outside on the pavement. Beer range is average - Pridebar (TM) kind of range, but always well kept and the odd guest. I’d never come here purposefully other than on the walk back from Lords.

Close to Regent’s Park. Small traditional bar on the outside, refurbished on the inside. Not much character or atmosphere. 3 not very interesting real ales on handpump. Service from disinterested Eastern European staff. Not great.

Situated on Park Road next to the London Business School this has a mixture of clientele from the business school and Lords cricket ground. Has a seated area outside which is always buzzing in Spring and Summer. Also notable for it’s attractive barmaids! Beer selection is pretty good. About 5 ales on tap. Regulars are London Pride, Doom Bar and there’s always a guest ale or two. Yesterday is was Ringwood. Bottle selection is interesting and they have several Belgian ales including Steenbrugge bruin dubbel and Palm.
