This place is small with very limited seating. Divey inside with a tiny patio. There is no parking so you have to park on the street in the residential neighborhood around the bar. There is no table service, so you have to order at the "order here" spot at the bar and carry your beverages to the table. This can be a real challenge if you have a group and choose to sit at the outside patio. If you order food, you get a number card and they bring the food to your table. The beer selection is all on tap and all from California. The beer menu is divided into IPA and "Other." You can order a flight of sample-sized beers. Limited food choices are mostly vegan and non-vegan sausages on rolls with various toppings. The home-made potato chips were tasty.
(Visited 07/2015): Tony’s Darts Away is located in downtown Burbank on West Magnolia between Reese and Orchard. Street parking is available in the surrounding area.
There is a small patio in front. Inside opens to a dimly lit space with the bar running along the right side with chair-style barstools, and table seating along the left. A duct runs along the length of the ceiling adorned with brewery stickers. Behind the bar the tap handles are visible, and there are a couple TVs too. A sign hangs over the bar pointing people not sitting there where to order.
As for the beers, there are around 40 taps with many CA breweries represented such as Lengthwise, Tap It, Cismontane, Enegrin and Kinetic. They also had a house beer (Darts Away IPA) from Golden Road. Flights are available.
Service on a weekday afternoon was fine. We were seated on the patio so ordering was done at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable on my trips up there.
Food at Tony’s is vegetarian, and our lunches and dessert were enjoyable.
Overall this is a hip and divey-in-a-good way spot that I would definitely visit again.
Cool dive-bar on the bar side. A bit more hipster in the table area. All service is get your ass up to the bar and order from the bartender. Quit being so goddamn lazy. Flights of 4 beers for $10 (price increases by a $1 for each beer not typically served in a pint). Real pints. Expensive, but not as bad some of the other places in the LA area. Nice tap list featuring only CA beers. Did not try the food but it smelled pretty good!
Neighborhood-style bar with a good selection. Lots of locals. About 1/3 IPAs, 2/3 everything else. The IPAs were mostly standard fare from large craft brewers: Bear Republic, Firestone, etc. Few surprises or rarities. Bartenders know there stuff, are helpful with both knowledge and sample pours. Comfortable place to sit and talk. Quiet crowd. Nice spot.
Great find while working up here in Burbank. Bartenders were great and my sandwich was delicious. It was busy but I still got attention when my glass was empty. This place embodies the perfect West Coast IPA bar. Some tables were playing board games and a lot of people were cooing over the Alpine Nelson IPA. I felt right at home. Thank you!
