Visited 12-NOV-2016 with Marianne:-)
Funny place. So not-hipster as anything can be. Oriental. Huge Curry smell on entering.
I ask for small pours but they only serve one size; 30 cl.
I have one of the 3,5m beers off course, and it is very nice. An easy drinking saison.
Not at all crowded on a saturday night.
Visited in May 2016 with my great friend gnoff. Wow, talk about a place with character. first off, the bar tender is an Iranian guy that once lived in the US in a city less than 2 hours from where I am from! it was crazy talking to him. Very unique experience. Ambiance is amazing-its basically a basement bar with multiple little rooms scattered around the place. The beer selection is solid. The house brews seem to be hit/miss. I had one that was sort of off so to say. Regardless, this place rules. A must visit if your in Gothenburg.
Age limit is 20 years, ID might be required if asked for. Last call 45 min before closing. Patio outside in summer season only. Kids allowed but no strollers/baby carriages due to laws from the fire department. 19 taps installed where 18 are currently connected, the last one is for planned future use. "Recently" started brewing on premise, so 1 to 3 of their own beers on tap is common. Usually max 150 bottles available, see the large cabinet to the right when you come down from the stairs. Pretty much the best place in Göteborg I’d say, if you want local or micro/craft beer and not get the average drinking crowd. Mellow, often fairly quiet place. I visit frequently and might be biased by the friendship I have with the owner, but I still recommend this place to everyone and anyone who’s looking for some good/great/unusual beers and super good service. Centrally located, easy to get to by going to tram/bus stop "Valand" and then a short walk, other stop "Vasaplatsen" also very close. Parking on the street. Basement location, so phone/wireless internet connection not great, but with the beer selection and rating on paper, who needs reception? WiFi available with pw from bar. Not that cheap any more, but then again I’m willing to pay for quality. Cash and cards both accepted, though card is preferred. Mainly soft jazz music from the speakers at a low volume. I’ve been going pretty often since 2007 or 2008 or so, don’t remember, I’m often there and have only good things to say about the owner, the staff and the place itself. Don’t expect much lagers though, I believe there’s somtimes one or maybe two. Also wine selection is not what you should go for. No hard spirits available at all, nor a wide selection of soda/pop/soft drinks, I think one kind of soda and one kind of mineral water. But hey, did I mention there’s tons of awesome beers?
Was a week in Goteborg for work and spent most of my nights here. Nice selection of beers (especially on tap, the bottles are too expensive), their own beer is great and innovative, great jazz, great atmosphere. Mainly sat here working late nights, and really enjoyed that!
Very cozy place downstairs, close to university. Blues music. They have a sign near the door "Carlsberg and Heineken free zone"; but they served Berliner Kindl on tap, that will result in point deduction. Prices are high. Definitely a very relaxing atmo, the best place we visited in Göteborg
Loved this place. Very knowledgeable staff, great atmosphere inside, and sitting out in the street having a beer on an autumn day was just great. Excellent selection of local and imported too, prices pretty reasonable for Scandinavia
