A café for beer geeks. The perfect place when you want to enjoy a beer in a nice relaxed atmosphere created by friendliness, damp lights and jazz music. Interesting and varied beers on tap combined with a good bottle assortment. The proprietor is friendly and knows what he’s talking about. Food is ok but not the reason you go here.
I’ve found myself visiting far less than before. Not really the best spot to tick something new or even enjoy most of the local craft beer breweries. Actually I’d love to see more locals here. However, when I visit I always enjoy myself and relax. The perfect place to enjoy a good rather than new beer in a relaxed atmosphere...
The ambiance here is great, super chill and cozy, a great place to relax and drink beer with some friends. Focus on tap is Belgian and US beer, I was a bit disapointed by the lack of Swedish beers. Bottles are all Belgian. Some really cool stuff from de Struise when I visited. Prices are very high for Göteborg, but it’s probably the only place in town to find most of these beers. The food here is very bad. The worst I’ve ever had at any bar anywhere. Just don’t. If you’re into Belgian beer or just looking for a place to chill on the Avenyn, pop in here.
Visited a warm Thursday evening in July. Nice outdoor patio where you can glaze at the visitors at the bar on the other side of the street. Inside a dark bar room dominated by the bar and a large cabinet filled with world class beers. Coloured lightning and Persian carpets on the walls adds a lot to the laid back ambiance. Quite a unique place - a must visit when in Göteborg.
Visited on Friday 21/03/14 around 7.15/30pm so the place was fairly busy and giving off good Friday beertime vibes upon our arrival!
I’d heard of this place, as the #1 venue in Gothenburg, but never put 2 and 2 together on the naming. 3 small rooms - ’kin obvious, I still counted the bastards, small is debatable on one of them though!
The place had a great ambiance, like a series of grandmas front rooms akin to a rambling English tea house in a Cotswold village, lots of rugs and carpets, I really liked this place from an ambiance perspective.
The owner was super friendly, as I was with Ronny and a few of the local crew he split a bottle of Cantillon for us and he also threw John (jmgreenuk) a bottle of Dugges Perfect Idjit, which he kindly split with me, as a semi apology for not selling us his last bottle of Stormaktsporter!
Good tap and bottle selection on top of the friendly service and vibes.
Top venue - best for me in Gotheburg!
