This place is pretty cool. it is a shame we only stayed for 1 beer. We went all the way to the back in the tiny single hall where they serve X33. Food looked good and our waiter was a lot of fun. Could have stayed here for hours.
Latest visit on August 5, 2017. Been back many times, figured I'll rerate the place again. Walked upstairs and sat for a few beers with my mates. Un-attentive service, sort of rude, didn't stay long enough for you to say you wanted a small one of the beer you just tried to order. Not a place to hang out upstairs, mainly to sample some specialty beers and move on. Had the X33 for the first time, on tap even. Always avoided it for the steep price (compared to many other beers in this country), cost 120 Kc for a glass.
Earlier from 2006 or so: It’s not obvious this is actually a brew pub as well as a Budvar place and restaurant. Go through the main hall and find your way to the brew pub upstairs, it’s well worth it and the beer is good. Also the shop in the basement can be well worth a visit, for example to buy their bottled beer.
Rerate. Rather poor service in 2008, downgrading scores for it.
Just drink the X33, that’s my hint. Large place, sells X33. Staff slowish, but get the job of serving you X33 done eventually. You can’t pay for the X33, or any other beer, with plastic, alas. Had a single telly showing footie, but the volume down, so you can drink your X33 in peace if you want to. Possible to drink your X33 either up at the bar on stools, or down at more comfortable tables. Selection was quite limited, but at least included X33. If you’re like me, you’ll have more than one X33, even though it was very expensive. Will come again, and drink more X33, hopefully.
