We sat in patio which is located in the courtyard. Got a feeling it’s touristy place not offering much to the beer aficionados. Looking at the menu confirmed that beerwise there is no need to visit this place. Had only one Dark Master
Visited fairly late Wednesday May 20, 2015, in the evening, after 10 pm. Had heardthey had PU Tankova, asked if their PU was Tankova, was told it was. Sure didn’t look, smell or taste like it. Sat in the first room which was very smoky. Only stayed for the one beer, didn’t eat. Tried overcharging us. Very unlikely I’ll go back.
I’ve been coming here for years and really love the place. There are two bar/restaurants at the ground level and a super underground restaurant too. Head for the underground part. It’s a fantastic authentic Czech beer hall serving great food and with great service. It’s probably not a good idea to come here if you are a vegetarian or even to tick beers, as the basic selection is just three beers on tap. However, if you want a hearty authentic Czech meal in a super location and a 35 crown Pilsner Urquell, this is the place for you!
We visited 23.11.2013. Nothing special, they have Kozel, Urqell and Birell. Main room has a nice ceiling and open fire place. Service slow, food ok. Waitress tried to charge us 15% service fee as they realized we had US friends with us. Only place in Prague where that happened to us. Therefore overall do not recommend this place!
Used to visit this place on every visit to Prague some years ago. The interior in the basement beer hall have to be admired, great ambience as well. Food and service are ok, but they tend to do the trick with the calculator when you are handed the bill.
Avoid, or if you go, please ask for the printed receipt.
Huge, sometimes noisy and crowded beer-hall in the heart of Stare Město; NOT serving UNFILTERED Pilsner Urquell!! But here You’ve the opportunity to sample the Master 18°. Good for a short break, to spend the whole evening there could be stressful......
