Trendy but very fun with a great out door area. Food looked great and well priced but didn't eat. No small pours but a decent tap list. Ramen and craft tick my boxes.

Ramen place with a gorgeous outdoor seating area and a bunch of taps. Beers weren't too exciting but were interesting enough. Server went above and beyond the call of duty. Good stop before Modern Times.

Next door to Modern Times North Park Tasting Room. Makes it pretty convenient since I don’t think Modern Times has food.

They have a bar right in front of the kitchen area where you can sit and eat (and drink). Lots of sun offered in this place as well as outdoor seating. Essentially an open air place. They have kind of a weird draft set up with the handles being set up sort of on individual columns with two taps on each.

The draft list is mostly made up of San Diego locals. While they didn’t have anything too crazy or special when I was there, there was a lot of stuff that’s at least different from your typical draft line up. Stuff from Societe, Alesmith, Modern Times, etc. Pretty neat. A few token Japanese beers as well. I think this location is better than the Little Italy one.

Visited for lunch on Sunny Saturday afternoon, order on entry including a beer but you can also ask the barman for tasters or for a recommendation. Good range of beer including a few specials from Modern Times, next door. Ramen was good, beer good, Not a beer only destination but a good recommendation for a quick lunch in between venues on 30th St. Thanks to T0rin0 for the transport!

Visited for lunch at around 1pm on Saturday 15/11/14. This place is located right next to Modern Times Flavordome where we had visited previously. The bulk of this venue is located outside in the sun on bench tables with a firepit in the middle towards the front, then covered bench seating to the rear. The place was doing a good trade but we managed to squeeze our group of 5 in ok. At the business end the 20+ taps combined a number of Socal micros, allied to a good 4 or 5 offerings from their next door neighbours. The service was prompt, you order your food and pay as you enter and it all came in no more than 6 or 7 minutes. The ramen was good, can’t remember which one I got but it had a very well constructed egg with just a nice run of the yolk. Not a go to beer destination in itself when compared with much of what SD has to offer, but well worth a lunch stop if you are doing a 30th St crawl to combine fresh and tasty food with a decent tap list.

Visited November 15, 2014.

Got a tip about this place while at AleSmith earlier. It’s right next door to the new Modern Times tasting room, so that’s good. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed some food and beer right after ticking through the whole Modern Times lineup. There are some communal tables with a gas fireplace in the middle. The address is on Upas and it’s right where 30th jogs over a block. The tap setup is kind of neat. Not sure exactly how to describe it but take a look.

They have half a dozen Modern Times beers on tap claiming that they’re collaborations between the restaurant and the brewery. According to the bartender the "collaborations" are just slight variations on the regular beers made specifically for the restaurant for San Diego beer week. The Loma Land Saison was a little higher in ABV. Some of the others had spices in them. It’s not clear if they really are new beers or not. Some admin should probably look into it.

The food was pretty good. I got the Underbelly Ramen which has egg, bacon, pork belly, sausage, ginger, and some other stuff in it. I’d probably order it again. Over all the food, price, beer selection, and service are good. The bartender offered free tastes of things as well. Definitely a worthy stop if you’re next door at Modern Times.
