Nice little hole in the wall. The rest of the area is a bunch of shitty college bars, so this is a welcome change to that scene. Knowledgeable staff that can help you with their good selection. A large amount of reasonably priced bottles and rotating taps. Smoking allowed inside and there is live music almost every night of the week.
Very hippy crowd in smokey, small room. Bartenders were very knowledgeable. Decent selection of beers with some priced higher than competing bars. A decent place to get beer if there is nothing else around
Small place in a plaza otherwise full of cheap college bars, with its close proximity to UCF. You won’t get too much of the college crowd here, since their selection is of craft beers. Great selection to choose from, easily over 100 different beer choices. The atmosphere here definitely consists of a hipster hangout. Not my style but I’d go for the good choice of beers, and the prices are average.
A great little corner stop with a beer list that defies the small space it’s located in. Parking can be hell if the clubs around it are fired up though, and if you don’t dig the band, it’s impossible to escape. Definitely a great option for a mid week hideaway with a couple good friends though.
I wish this were around when I was in college. They have a good selection and the staff is really in to the beer, which is awesome. It is a relatively small place with a small porch. Everyone seems pretty cool, also, so it’s easy to strike up conversation.
UGB is my favorite local bar. Great staff and crew of regulars. They specialize in American craftbrews and often have a few special releases. Only downside is the location- it’s sandwiched in between a lot of college bars, meaning that parking can be difficult and there is a risk of your car being hit by drunk 18 year olds. I would recommend going earlier in the evening, for happy hour, etc. Also, there are a couple cool restaurants right in the same plaza. Definitely make it a point to check this place out.
UB is my favorite local beer bar.
The interior is a little run down. But this is the only drawback.
The staff is very knowledgeable, especially Paul, the manager. They are very responsive to customers and always provide quality suggestions.
The beer selection is good and always changing. The taps are cleaned regularly and the date posted. There are always a nice group of people in there, so you don’t have to drink alone. The staff and customers are very friendly.
Paul has been hosting monthly beer tastings. These are informative and fun. Appetizers are included in the $20 entry. We typically work our way through 12 beers.
UB is located across the street from University of Central Florida and close to Research park. This provides a nice mix of clients.
Paul has live music there most evenings on their very small corner stage. UB is a common stop for local and regional brewmasters. It’s a fun place to go.
My home away from home when I lived in Orlando for a year. Was easily there three to four times a week. Great staff that is there to share their knowledge of beer. Good live music on some nights and an excellent selection of ever-rotating taps and bottles. They run a 100-beer member club of which I am a member. The college crowd can kill the ambience on some late nights, but overall a great, chill place to sit back, chat it up and discover great beers.
I love this bar. The boys behind the bar have a good knowledge of beer are passionate about what they pour. The patrons usually consist of business types during happy hour and always a college crowd at night. It does get a bit smoky inside, but a small patio allows an escape. Last visit had a man named Foyil playing acoustic alt rock covers and a lone bartender named Paul handling the unexpected masses on a Monday night. Despite the crowd, the beers came quick. Put back a Two Hearted, some Hopsecutioner, then finished out with a Hopslam or 4. A must visit if you are on the east side of Orlando.
