comfortable chairs, friendly staff, good selection of beers across a range of styles. Proper glassware. Only thin that would make it better is a real food menu (they do have some heavy snacks available), and a little less loud.
Nice place, more seating outdoors than in. I went here before the bigger one opened up in the grove. That one serves more food, is bigger, and has more taps, making this one a bit obsolete. Not bad, just there is another better option from the same brewery close by. Good if you want to reminisce about times where there was only 1 UC tasting room in St. Louis.
Fun place. Lots of German oriented styles... right up my alley. In all, well executed and pleasant to drink. First server, Nick, gave me excellent service... super friendly and informative, and also made sure I got to try a beer that was not on the taplist. Once his shift was over, however, the remaining servers were friendly but inattentive. Charcuterie board was solid. The menu looked good in general. Prices solid. Overall I greatly enjoyed this place. Recommended.
typical taproom in a warehouse setup but they do have a nice outdoor biergarten which is nice during St. Louis’s 3 week summers. They had 12-14 on tap with their German offerings being the big standouts. Everyone was cordial and friendly which is a plus. The kitchen was closed when I got there so I can’t comment on the food though they do offer it.
Interesting place with its own parking lot -major plus there! Inside is a large wraparound bar and a few other tables. 14 taps running when I was there, with a German-inspired taplist. Flights of four available with 5 oz pours. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and they new their beer as well. Beer was solid. All in all a really good place and well worth a stop.
Came here with Joe. Nice place. Good beers. Fair prices. Didn’t have any food. But a worthwhile stop when in STL.
New rating: March 2015. Great place. Staff was very knowledgable and they had lots of great beers on tap, more than when I went several years ago. Probably the best brewery stop in STL.
Twinned a stop here with a pilgrimage to Pappy’s Smokehouse, which is only a couple of blocks away. The large Biergarten has rows of communal tables, and probably would have been a fun way to waste a few hours if it wasn’t so hot outside. I opted to hang out in the bar instead. 15 taps were available pouring exclusively UCB brews. Flights are limited to only 4 beers, so it would cost a decent amount to try everything. The Zwickel was outrageously tasty, and I ended up drinking it at a few other venues over the weekend. Obviously this place excels at the traditional German styles, but the American stuff wasn’t bad either. Prices are decent. Overall, a worthy stop. I’d love to come back on a nice day to sit in the biergarten and knock back a few litres of the Zwickel.
