Right next to Klášterní Pivovar Strahov and as the previous reviewer said, the only two beers of note here are two Matuška ones. There is really no point stopping here - you can find these beers elsewere for less money.
Echo another reviewer’s notes that this fooled me into thinking it was a Matuska brewpub. Only 1 beer available on tap (maybe?) and it was practically shoved at me before I could choose anything else. Staff also wouldn’t let me go to another part of the building to look at the taps for some reason. Couple of bottles available.
The place to go when the Pivovar Strahov, Resturace Sv. Norbert is full. Just next door and unfortunantly not as sunny. Still easy to get a table, good beer. The table contained 12 different beers from 3 different breweries. Only one beer from each brewery at the time was on tap. This makes the consumption of each high, thereby not getting any old stale beers. Fair prices of both beer and food. Can’t remember much of the food.
Located next to Klášterní Pivovar Strahov. This place is trying to capitalize on its location and all of the people headed to Strahov. In order to compete, they have partnered with Matuska to offer their (excellent) beers on tap. That said, lots of misleading advertising and signage abounds... almost suggesting that the place is Matuska itself. The staff plays this up too and sadly, they only have one Matuska on tap at a time and several of the staff members couldn’t even tell me the name of the Matuska offering I was drinking. Eventually one did tell me it was "Raketa" but couldn’t tell me which one. When the beer came out, I was able to tell which one it was and enjoyed every drop of it. Prices were a tad high for Prague.
Place located just before the Strahov brewpub. Pretty large place, was completely empty when I entered and stayed liked that during my visit. They had Matuška Weizenbock on tap which was great. Not sure about the bottles. Worth checking out and stopping for a beer if you’re going to Strahov.
Visited on a sunny Thursday afternoon, sat outside and opted for the beer bucket, 6 bottles of Matuska beer and dinner. OK, a bit pricey by Prague standards but the beer was excellent, the waiter was really helpful even offering to change the ice to keep the beer cool.
After paying he gave us a free bottle of ESB too. Would go back and sit in the sunshine and drink fine Matuska beer.
