Have been there during a cold and rainy day and were looking forward to this pub, but got little bit dissappointed because the place was too bright and loud, although there were only other three, four tables engaged. Drinks were okay and the prices were average, but we just didn’t feel like enjoying this visit a lot.
Visited many times over the years. A Fuller’s pub with a long history and plenty of genuine historical and architectural interest. They have 5 or 6 handpumps - mainly Fuller’s, including the current seasonals / specials, but usually with a guest (but don’t expect anything too exciting). It’s a regular entry in the Good Beer Guide is something of a flagship pub for Fullers. The (cask) beer is invariably in very good condition. It’s the closest decent pub to Paddington staion, although bear in mind that Fuller’s do have a serviceable pub inside the station these days so that will probably suffice if you just want the beers and aren’t so worried about the atmosphere. The back street location means it has less tourist footfall / passing trade than some others in the area and, consequently, a more authentic pubby atmosphere. There are so many decent pubs in London these days that I wouldn’t make a special trip but it’s a worthwhile stop if you’re in the area. And, if you’re new to the UK and want to try a range of Fuller’s beers in central London, this is as good as any - although I prefer the Star in Belgravia as a pub.
A friend arranged a crawl and chose pubs of historical and architectural interest (he’s retired and has nothing better to do). Certainly hit the spot - it’s a gem of an old pub. Beer choices weren’t that interesting, but decent being Fuller’s. However wasn’t quite so taken by the atmosphere. It was very business. I.e. people in suits on lunch and some IT guy holding a business meeting. A few people out for pub crawl did not fit in. So we did the specially prepared quiz and went to meet some London based colleagues.
Visited on Wednesday 6th Jan 2016. A lovely traditional old Fullers pub in hotel central a few minutes from Paddington. 4 handpulls on the bar plus a decent range of Fullers bottles in the fridge and a few craft offerings. Tried a few beers I hadn’t had before, all served by friendly staff, well kept but a little pricey.
The single roomed pub was busy but we got a table, popular with diners, the food was good and it quietened down a little later on but still had a good buzz to the place.
Not a beer destination as such, if you want a well served pint of Fullers in a nice old Victorian pub the this place could well be the place to go.
Great Victorians pub with beautifull interior .. The selection is limited being a fuller pub but the quality is perfect .. I had some food that was good and classic .. Oh stay focused on your pint and don’t get distracted from the barmaid boobs !!!!! :))))

Visited twice during the week of April 30th as it was just blocks from our hotel. Nice cozy historic pub with 5 Fullers hand pulls all in nice condition. Had a great lunch of lamb one day and sandwiches late night the next. Our server was great-she pointed us in the right direction for the busses and was prompt and enjoyable. One night was trivia night so we had a fun time with the locals. Good stop if you’re staying near Paddington.
Trad Victorian era Fullers establishment around 5 mins walk from Paddington station.
Decent range of Fullers on tap including seasonals.
Far enough from the station to be fairly light on tourists so largely an older/local crowd, also popular with rail workers - my friend who works at Paddington has their team xmas party here.
Nothing to seek out unless in the area but if you have an hour to kill at Paddington worth the short walk to escape the ever sterile station pub atmosphere.
Visited several times with my parents, even had New Years dinner there one year. Cosy place, great relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff and a place with a nice mix of tourists and locals. Good selection of Fuller beers, served in good condition. Food is traditionel pub food, well made. Being in the area, for sure worh a visit. Can at times be rather busy..
