Visited during RBESG’12. Busy brewpub, nice sturdy interior, good service, OK beers, OK food. The small goulash really was small. Prices were OK I guess. Would visit again.

Huge brewpub, bar and brew equipment as you enter, beergarden in the back. 5 taps with house beers, a few geust bottles to. Beers where rather boring and/or foulty. Slow service, i had to go looking to ordre twice. Didnt eat. Not coming back either.
Dinner at Wieden Bräu with my girlfriend. Nice and friendly atmosphere with a lot of bright wooden interior. The service was busy, but friendly (was there still a few times and never had troubles with the service) and we ordered the beer of the week, Wiedener Weissbier, which wasn´t that impressing. Their standard beers are on a normal level, nothing special, but very refreshing. A summarize of all my visits: The food was always good and well prized with medium portions. Good brewpub within a few minutes from Karlsplatz.
The best thing about this place is probably the ambiance, and even that isn’t great. As a brewpub, the beers are brewed at the restaurant. While the beers are ok, I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there. The food was below average for Vienna and the service was less than friendly and forget about knowledgeable about beer. Not the best experience
Looks like a neighbourhood place in a typical Vienna street, not far from the very centre of this beautiful city. Limited selection of good beer, also seasonals. Some are available to take away in bottles. Friendly staff. Didn’t try the food.
Ok, where to start... the ambience was unappealing but bearable, the service was ok and the prices would have been ok as well (in terms of Vienna standards), if not for the quality of the served food and beers. Let us start with the food. When I get deer goulash with half of the meat fit to replace the rubber in a slingshot, then I am far from being amused. When I additionally discover that the breaded potatoes I got in a restaurant are frozen food, and on top of that not thoroughly defrosted, then I get angry. When I taste a seasonal beer and discover that it is unintentionally sour, then my temper rises yet even more. And when I order three basic house beers only to discover that they are the worst examples of corn&cauliflower DMS you could possibly imagine... well, then it is truly time to leave. Wieden Brau gets my badge of the absolutely worst brewpub I have ever been to. I don’t think it is actually possible to sink any lower than that.
Good food, slow service and beers generally unexciting. At least they have a rotating "special" beer. The "Xarifa" was described as a hoppy Belgian red and listed Chinook, Columbus and Mosaic which were barely detectable!
One of the better brewpubs in Vienna. They have some standard offers (Helles, Märzen, Dunkles) but also usually one seasonal beer. They seem to have started experimenting more, meaning the brews get more and more interesting (stuff like stouts and (D)IPA, which up until now is quite untypical in the Austrian beer landscape). The beers in general are definitly above average, some are good to very good even. Food is good too, typcial pub fare though. Overall recommended place, short walk from city center.
Looked closed but it wasn’t - just dark inside! Beers - basically adequate - seemed more gassy than any others we had in brewpubs. We all ate Goulasch here - small portion but very tasty and adequate. We found out afterwards that the pretzels, whilst waiting for food, were not a gift and the bread rolls with the Goulash were also a chargeable extra. The waiter was charming, very chatty and rather pushy - with good American English.
