Nice pub, good service, decent food, pool table, and occasional beer festivals. Greene King pub and choice whilst broader than most, still lacks real quality. Worthy of a visit especially during a festival.

Very popular traditional pub with reasonably good cask selection. Food is good and cheap too

Nice enough pub, old-fashioned traditional English pub feel. My kind of music played, and decent staff, very friendly. Alas the beer selection was a bit limited. Some of the apparent "guests" were just the old phonies like Hardies & Hansons. However, the two GK-stable beers we had here were on really good form, so thumbs up to that.

A descent local pub situated in the town centre. Good craft beer amongst regular Green King ales. Owners are very friendly and open. They are enthusiastic about providing new craft beer despite the large Green King issue. The whisky selection is awesome. Don’t avoid this place due to the Green King issue. You do get regional micro beers. The beer festivals they run are good. A must visit on the way to the Queens Head. Sadly GK are very powerful and present in the area. They also always have one micro beer.
