The tasting room is where to come to drink Yards in situ. It’s a large airy space with a u-shaped bar surrounded by shelves of merchandise. The brewery can be seen through the large glass windows and where you can spot the brewers scurrying around. About a dozen beers available on my visit. Flights of 4 can be purchased and the bar staff are happy to mix them up between core and seasonal brews. Overall, pretty good vibes.
Visited once, latish lunch time Saturday April 30, 2016. Food truck outside that was nice, but took some times since it was rather popular. ID checked for all that entry the brewery, make sure to bring it. Free tours that was nice. Decent beers. A rather steep walk from downtown. Some parking available. Seems very popular, line to get in after a while. Fairly big area for seating, but still crowded this day. Likely I’d go back if in the area, but would like to get there fairly early to get a place to sit down. Free sample of a beer when enterin, also a few free beer samples during the tour. Free Wifi available with password.
Large open space with a long bar in the back. Windows open to the brewhouse. A pretty eclectic group of employees and patrons alike. Has their normal stuff on tap plus a few variations of their brews and special batches you generally can’t find elsewhere. It closes early so it’s a good place to start the night before moving along to other Northern Liberties spots. I’ve yet to take the tour so can’t comment on that but generally a good place to visit.
Very pleasant brewery to check out and definitely worth the visit if in Philly. They have a ton of stuff on tap usually, and when I was there they even did bottle pours of their grand cru available in sample flights. They seem to always have a section of go-to beers and supplement this with a bevy of specialty or seasonal brews. A lady at the front was handing out samples to people coming in from a bottle pour. Some of the beers are quite good, though they range greatly in quality. Staff was friendly.
For the second time in 4 days we went to a brewery and the place was rented for a private event. Since the private event was only in an hour, we were allowed a drink. Glad they had flights, I ordered one, only to find out they tried to get us out asap, which resulted in the waiter coming by our table every 5 minutes saying: "we will be closing up for the private event". In the end we were brushed out the door, even though there were only 2 persons for the private event, so it wasn’t exactly as if we were taking up valuable space. Anyway, the beers: selection was ok, the ones we had were mediocre to good. No idea about food. Service, as described above, could have been better. I don’t know if the place offers extra assets compared to other bars, other than that you can see the lager tanks.
Nice location near sugar house casino parking was easy on a Saturday ... tour lasted around 40 minutes and included a few samples of fresh yards .... guide was informative and took us from grains to packaging around the brewery .... nice clean brewery with a nice sized bar area ... a simple menu of some grubb like bison chili, sausage and soup most of the food is from local farms and is tasty ... definitely have to try the chili and of course fresh pints of yards on tap .... growler fills, cases, merchandise, keg fills all available ... they have a shuffleboard and 100 year old pool table to keep you occupied .... i bought a case and they mixed it with whatever I wanted for $32 bucks (including ales of the revolution) .... Nice place to visit... ***IMPORTANT NOTE this location on Delaware ave opened in 2008 ******
Decent place. Ample parking in lot next door. Food truck outside, though did not partake. Cheap flights divided into three types/styles/series. A bit loud and can use more table space, but well done overall.
Nice bar area surrounded by several tables. Good selection of beers. Didn’t eat. Bartender was great. Brewer came by to chat for a few minutes. Nice selection of standard beer with several seasonals on hand. Good value as well. Nice place. must see
