Historic old pub, an anachronism surrounded by modern buildings, this place survives to remind you that drinking beer can still be a civil affair centered around good conversation instead of ESPN & Hooters. The Sam Smith’s is particularly delicious here, I don’t know why.

When you step through the close to get to the front door of Ye Olde CC, you step back into the 17th century. I really enjoyed my couple of visits there...it’s a real treat for history deprived Yanks. As w/all Sam Smith pubs that I have visited, the food is a cut above other pubs, and the bitter is the cheapest in London...highly recommended.
I didn’t want to ever leave this place. You can walk in there in the middle of the day and lose all sense of time within minutes. Open fireplace with ashes everywhere. Nitro beers. Low ceilings. Timeless. Love it.
It is a place you have to visit just for the history. You are transported back the minute you step through the door. Not a huge selection but enough for you to enjoy the atmoshere and friendly service. Look closely from the street and find the small alley to the entrance.
Surprisingly much space in a variety of different bars. Ended up in a somewhat younger part of the pub - a room with 25 seats. Ca. 10 beers on tap. Large selection of dishes incl. pies, sandwiches, salads, burger, ribs etc.
On tap: ..Samuel Smith Taddy lager, Double four lager, Alpine lager, Pure brewed organic lager, Extra Stout, Old brewery bitter, Organic wheat beer, Dark Mild.
ma è un posto fantastico si respira la storia qui dentro veramente unico come ambiente peccato che le birre sono monotematiche ovvero solo samuel smith che non è male ma in un posto del genere si dovrebbe trovare molto di più.
Nice pub set on fleet street with the entry set aside. Dark wodden panaled inside with a tiny bar at first but covering several floors which expand out. Also a restaurant and pub grub was available though i did not have any but it looked pretty good and typically Sam smith priced which is unusual for London. Sam smith on tap and several different bottles available, too. Service was average non-smile London type with London prices for a pint. Overall a good pub though really worth the visit taking in the atmosphere and beer...
If ever in London this is an absolutely GREAT pub to visit just for the building. Make sure you head to the basement floor amazing ambiance. Selection is purely sam smiths but very good value. You must visit this pub at least once!
