super busy part of of town right by Federation squares almost makes this a touristy place. Weird mixture of people from tourists to locals, certainly no hard core craft drinkers. 16 taps of commonly found Australian ales. Very English, but comes with a wait at the door, rope line and security guards. Nothing to see here, move on by.
A place to visit at least once - an iconic pub right in the busy part of Melbourne but the Y&J beers I had I felt were somewhat expensive. Usually has a good range of tap beers, often with a craft brewer take-over (4 Pines in one bar on this visit). If the downstairs bars are busy thereís always Chloe upstairs.
Iconic Australian pub in an iconic location.Downstairs usually full, upstairs home to Jules Joseph Lefebvreís naughty painting of Chloe. I always visit Chloeís when in Melbourne and they always have a beer Iíve never tried. Hideously expensive so I always get a seat at the window watching the trams!
Have been here a few times over the years and always happy to return. They have a good selection of crafts as well as some decent food on offer too. It can get busy but thatís to be expected given the location. Well worth a visit if in the area.
Came here on 28.2.2016. The pub is located in a traditional and old building very close to Flinderís street Rail station. It is a huge pub with several rooms and a large TV screen. Very nicely decorated using a lot of dark wood. They are serving 30 Australian beers, mostly from craft breweries and 3 ciders. I had CitraíNíella Saison from Two Birds and two IPAís from the Feral brewery. The Saison was tapped far too cold. Bar tender did not have a lot of knowledge about the beers he is selling. Overall a good Australian Pub with a large beer selection but without any beer passion.

Almost always full. Sports on the telly.
Decent beers on tap. Didnít try the food.
Has that big boy feel to it and is a little stale. Although was very cool to see a small Ballast Point tap takeover with some cool offerings during beer week like habanero sculpin. Staff know little about the beers but I donít think this is the type of place to go to and for that type of drink. Always bustling so be prepared for abusy one
Quite a big pub feel to this which makes sens considering itís a massive place - two stories. The top story is where I found the good beer on tap - a Ballast Point tap take over which consisted of 6 beers. The main floor seemed to have plenty of Squire and Creatures with the odd Melbourne brewery thrown in and a few ciders so nothing you canít get anywhere else. Service was pretty average on the ground floor but was better once up stairs as there was less room to work with and they didnít seem so understaffed when it was busy. Much quieter and nicer to sit up stairs as well. Not amazing but was very pleased to find a Ballast Point tap takeover with some obscure releases as far as Australia goes
