Za’popent is a small beer shop in old town in Ljubljana with great selection of hard to find beers. It’s a bit hidden from the street, but when you get in, you won’t be disappointed. Nice selection of American beers, Mikkelers, Brewdogs etc. including stouts and porters (which are pretty rare in this area). Ambiance is cosy and staff professional. Judging by surname, it seems that Bevog and Za’popent have owners from the same family. What to say at the end...keep it up, you’re on the right way!!!
Well this place changed and not for better. Visited for the first time after couple of years and it looks like a shadow of old place. Several interesting beers, mostly Slovenian and occasional import. Other selecton consists of Belgian classics and they still have some old bottles, from couple of years ago, left by previous owners. Selling 2014 (low abv) bombers at regular prices - I don’t know, good luck with that. New owner seemed interested in beer and willing to listen to advice. But I was suggested to buy an US IPA which was underwhelming, at least. I was told they are expecting new beers, but this place is going to need some serious work to get to the previous level.
Old rating from 2014 - Shop in center of Ljubljana. Owner, working there, was really helpful and flexible when we were on tight schedule. Also she was knowledgeable and ready to discuss beer. Selection is very good, lots of interesting stuff. Also the first shop in region with serious selection. I’m always happy to come back to this place.
One rack of slovenian (serbian/croatian) craft beers and one with german/austrian/american/english/irish. Then one rack of belgian/netherland and some random other stuff on two other racks. A friendly lady helped me find my way through the stock. There were two other guys who seemed to drink beer all day?! Prices 3€+ per bottle/can. Worth a visit for me.
Did not get much good vibe during my visit. Nothing in terms of atmosphere in the background, the lady asked me if I needed help which was nice but then complete silence.
While they advertise how Slovenia has come a long way with craft beer, the craft selection was rather very limited and some of the stock near empty. The rest offers a more random intl selection with some nice Austrian crafts with some of them rather steep in price.
Carino e fornito beer shop in centro a Lubiana.
Compact store in the old town; felt like walking into a cellar. Pretty cool vibe. Having gone to two previous Slovenian shops, I was most impressed by the selection here — large amount of beers from Slovenia and neighboring countries. Quite a bit of Mikkeler and Belgian beer as well. Prices seemed better than other places. Would rate it higher but, maybe it was just an off day, the staff was not very attentive on my visit ... though that wouldn’t stop me from going back.
Hidden location in an old town basement. Currently there are construction work ongoing in the building, and due to uncertainty regarding the situation the selection see more limited than previous reports suggests. Still a nice selection of both locals and imports, and helpful friendly staff.
One of the best bottle shops that I have been to. Modest range of local beers and US beers but big selection of Mikkeler beers and Belgian beers. Lots of other stuff too. Lady that served me was helpful and knowledgeable.
Nice shop located close to the city just off the city center. Great selection with beer from Denmark, USA, Germany, Scotland, and several local brewers. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely stop here again.
