Stopped in here for a couple of beers on a Sunday afternoon. Very loud metal indoors, and huge crowd outside in the beer garden. Very young crowd with lots of extracurricular activity happening. Beer selection was good and the bartenders were nice. Other than that, this is not my type of place.
Pretty big place with large patio outside. Also quite dark with dive bar feel to it. Almost 60 taps were on, combination between usual suspects, even some macros and interesting brews like Mraz, Fieldwork, Alpine. Prices are good for SF. Wouldn't say it's exactly beer geek heaven, but a good place for late night out.
Visited on a Saturday evening in March 2016. The place was not crowded at all, probably because of the bad weather.
I liked this place, it was rather dark but with a quick and friendly service. The selection was nice, 50 taps. I would love to sit in the beer garden during a nice summer evening.
I also liked the fact that one was not allowed to take photos at this place.
Hipster beer garden. Very interesting place that has mostly widely available beers in pitchers, and bloody mary’s. Great people watching, good prices, and some rare beers. Fun place to hang out, but I wouldn’t expect crazy beers.
Divey, biker metal/punk bar with a few tables and billiards inside, and an awesome beer garden outside. Service was quick and friendly enough. Selection was great, a whole bunch of local draught and some killer selections otherwise. Cash only, but the prices are pretty low for a big city. Definitely a cool spot.
Very divey with a metal/punk feel. Lots of loud music and packed on the weekend. Service was extremely quick and the selection was excellent, as were the prices. A little rough around the edges for me but if you’re into that sort of thing, this is the place to go.
Punky rough-around-the-edges place that knows what they’re doing. They know what they don’t like (credit cards, phones, and babies), and they know what they like (good beer, hamburgers, and sausages). The bier garden is pretty cool, but also a little rough around the edges. The bratwurst I had was pretty darn good. The main reason to come here, though, is the beer selection, which was large and high-quality. They’re open early (and their kitchen is too), which is a plus.
Visited the 12th February 2015 - Between Mission and the Downtown, you will find the Zeitgeist. Ambiance is heavy metal and stoner with good beer and cocktails. All what I like ! I have been there for the event : Anderson Valley during the beer week. The selection of beer is really amazingg with 50 taps, I thinks it’s the biggest selection on tap I have never seen! Price are nice and service is clean. The staff is really friendly as the people inside. The place is not so clean but it’s ok and you will like the beer garden outside! Really exclusive for San Francisco! A good place if you like good beer and heavy metal. The place is on the same philosophy as the Toronado.
