Busy place, lots of tourists and some students. Good selecion of tap beer and lots of bottles. Good service from the waitresses. We tried the food, there’s a good selection, with daily special meals (daghap). Available prices, especially for the daghap. Good atmosphere.
Nice, a bit too dark place with mainly wooden interior and lots of old belgian beer banners. Mainly Belgian beers, but pretty common selection. Been here two days in a row, and both times was difficult to find a place to sit. The service was very friendly. The food was also good and tasty but a bit pricey. Order extra fries and expect really king size. I’ve tried 9 new beers here.
This is the place where I started tasting weird beers 10 years ago. Very nice brown café Amsterdam style, good selection of bottles, taps are not very special. Mostly students here, lately also a lot of yuppies. Food is nice, it has been worse here (also better, back in the days when they had spare-ribs in Westmalle dubbel-sauce). Prices have gone up spectacularly as in all of Amsterdam, but the taps are overpriced. Nevertheless still a nice place to go for some good beers and a dinner. Snacks are very nice, their home-baked bread is very good.
A lovely bar with about a hundred beers, most from Belgium.

Belgium/Dutch-mix style bar focused on Belgian beers and younger going-out crowd. Kinda small and a very relaxed atmosphere. Liked the music, too. We were (very?) lucky to find a table on Saturday night and it was busy but no overcrowded at all. Staff seemed surprisingly knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Selection almost exclusively the more well-known Belgian (and some Dutch) ales. Would have expected more rarities but frankly there was enough to choose from. Liked the offering of Arabier and Oerbier, for example. Also the Orval was presented with the last yeasty bit served in a separate shooter glass - haven’t seen that level of detail before in a bar like this. Prices are reasonable, especially considering how close it is to Amsterdam’s Leidseplein. Recommended!
For someone who is into beer, this might not be the best place in the city to go to for only having some beers, but going out for dinner, this is a nice place. Some cuisine de bier, I tried the lamb with Kwak sauce and it was excellent, and a Kwak to drink with it made an almost magical combination.
Just in the city centre. A lot of party inside and nice music too. The selection is only belgium beers. Reasonable value. A good option for take a beer if you are near the zone of Leidseplein or Museumplein.

This place has an authoritative selection of Belgian beers but little else, and it never really changes. The music is usually too loud, the place is usually way too crowded during usual going-out-to-drink hours and the fact that you have to go all the way to the back through a packed place to get to the toilet is annoying. I do find it amazing that the staff still manage to smile and serve you attentively despite the insane amount of people usually being there.
