Nice Apfelweinwirtschaft at the southern edge of Sachsenhausen, who produce cider and beer. Very good ciders (there will most of the time be more than one Äpfelwein available) and one beer called Theo. They brew batches of only 120 litres of this beer, a hoppy lager/pils which is unfiltered and has a second fermentation in the bottle. Easily reached by public transport: Louisa station has trams and S-Bahn.

If You’re going to Frankfurt, You better forget that You like beer... The quality of the Frankfurt brews is so bad, that You should better switch over to cider, which is called here "Apfelwein". Cider is the traditional drink in Frankfurt and the villages around and much more popular and better than beer... "Zur Buchscheer" is a cozy, old fashioned and traditional Cider restaurant, located a bit off the beaten tracks. They produce and serve their own Apfelwein here; worth a detour because of the shady patio, the friendly service and the good and traditional food!
