Located 5 miles from Matamoras and the New Jersey State Line. You can pass by this town very easily on the interstate and never know it’s there. Hotel Fauchere is one of these great old hotels that every town in the Northeast used to have except this one is still doing very well because of Milford’s proximity to NYC. I definitely echo ItalianJohn’s sentiment that it’s like an art gallery that serves food. The massive photo of Andy Warhol kissing John Lennon really sets the tone. They had a couple of shawnee creek taps and some solid craft beer bottles but this is much less a beer place than it is a great food and ambiance place. The house burger with the egg on it was fantastic and the people at the bar and behind were friendly. It was a lovely experience at the end of a three week trip, I’ll definitely be back.

Downstairs from the Hotel Fauchere ... like an art gallery that serves food .... Went to lunch here and the sandwiches were amazing and at a decent cost .... Beer was good had lots of locals including two tap handles of shawnee craft beer .... had some more exotic mikkeller and other rarer options but at a much higher cost ... they try to have a bit of all of their beer styles covered so you really can’t go wrong ..... I enjoyed the grub and the brews were fresh ... ambiance was a bit odd

I’m proud to be able to share this gem with the ratebeer community. However, a little piece of me wants to be greedy, but I’m fighting that piece. No windows, below a swanky boutique hotel and smelling of rich truffle oil. These tidbits may turn you off but be sure that the venture is worth it. I’ve been there four times now and this final tome was the crescendo. Everything on the menu is thoughtful from sourcing to presentation and all the way through the process and that includes the food, cocktails, wine and of course the beer. They provide beer pairings on the menu with their innovative offerings and provide small plate, cheese and charcuterie options as well as entrees. As long as you don’t mind iconic Pennsylvania breweries alongside Russian river, Alesmith and Bell’s options, you’ll feel right at home. Great place to feel transported somewhere else while on the comfortable confines of northeast pa.
