Brauhaus und Ballhaus Watzke

Big restuarant with a beergarten overlooking the river and a part of Dresden. Just a short distance from the autobahn, so easy for a short break. 3 beers on tap, the 2 we had was fine (pils and Keller) passed on the weizen as i was driving. Good and very filling food for lunch. Service abit slow since they where quite busy, fair prices.

Chill beergarden near the elbe with a nice view of the altstadt unless the trees are blocking it. They have two always available beers and one monthly rotational. Also a taster of the three is available. Food is good but a little expensive (Altstadt price level). Worth a visit if you ask me.

Large place right on the river. Nice terrace/biergarten with natural tree shade. Sort of a view of Dreden altstadt. Four beers on offer when I visited. Food is tasty and filling. Nicer than the altstadt location I would imagine, although I haven't been there to compare.

Lovely building with impressive river views, pils average but alt bier and dunkle bock very good

All 4 brews are nothing special, but place itself is very cool. Terrace with the river view is great.

Large beer hall with a traditional looking interior. Prompt service and the food was good. We had the Honigbraü and Altpieschener Spezial both were decent. It’s not a bad place to visit if you are close.

Rather traditional German style interior with lots of wood, huge ceilings, no music, an open kitchen and not really nice service.When the weather is fine, however, it seems that the beer garden overlooking the Elbe is a good option. The food.. well, the sausage salad was inedible, the pork ribs were rather nice. They have two regular house beers and one seasonal that was out at the time of our visit. The Spezial was really nothing special, their pils however was magnificent, one of the three best I’ve had so far. And it is for this pils that you should visit either this Brauhaus or one of their taprooms.

2 beers on my visit. The vollbier which was a monat bier was sold out. Lovely location. Large rooms and the terrase was huge. unfortunatly the weather was a bit cold. Drinking their lovely pils looking out on the Elbe could be so cool. Friendly english spoken waitors and good food. Great place.
