Candlewyck Bar and Grill

Small for a "grill", but decent sized for a bar, filled with locals ... food looked good ... booth and table seating with a rectangular bar .... sports on TV’s all around the bar ... tap list was mostly IPA heavy .... bottle list was limited .... cheap prices and staff was somewhat knowledgeable .... Hadn’t heard much about this place ... now i know why

I’ve eaten in the restaurant and it’s standard bar fare served by the same waitresses who’ve been here 30 years. Allowed smoking in the bar, but I’ve heard they stopped. Bottle shop is actually far better than expected. Not anything all that unusual, but a lot of old favorites and it’s more convenient than bootlegging in from Jersey. Don’t go by their published list. What’s actually in stock is hit or miss, but you can normally find some respectable options. They’re also kind enough to break the room into three sections -- macroswill, craft and belgians which makes the hunt a little easier. Not a bad place to stop for a convenient emergency sixer or two.
