De La Vega’s Pecan Grill and Brewery

Roomy interior is inviting, and divided to provide intimacy in some places (Sure would have appreciated some wi-fi, though.) Servers are prompt, cheerful and helpful - you feel welcome and valued. Food is tasty and well-prepared - come for brunch! They have some healthful offerings along with all the grease-laden ones.

Nice brewpub with decent beer and really good food. Worth the trip if you’re in the area.

Cool spot in Las Cruces, visited here on business and enjoyed it. I had the sampler of darks and lights.. the Chili beer was very nice, not too hot and the Pecan Beer was very rich, id go back just for that beer.

There was some things that put me off about De La Vega’s - it was rather stuffy for a microbrew and the staff seemed less than excited about the beer they had on tap. But staff was efficient (more like what you expect at a black tie restaurant than a bar and grill) and the food was excellent. Nothing on tap but their own brew but enough there to last the evening. A little pricey.

In the "mall" area of Las Cruces, it’s easy to write a place off. I was apprehensive about coming here, but couldn’t turn down the chance at a New Mexico brewpub that I had never been to. And, yes, they do brew their own beers. If fact, everyone on tap is theirs. They have the crap on bottles though, and they do have a full bar to give those who have to have a cocktail at a brewpub their fix. This is not a cheap place by means of their beer, their food or by Las Cruces standards. Food runs $12+ and beers are $4-5 per pint, with sampler trays running about $1.50 per sampler. We tried everything and, to be completely frank I was incredibly skeptical (I love High Desert across town) but they actually brew some damn good beer here. I can recall not liking everything, but I can recall distinctly liking a number of them. They also do some interesting styles: not just standard amber, lager, etc. But I guess that’s what you can do when you have that many taps open to just your beers. The food was excellent. Honestly, although Las Cruces is a laid back town, they needed a slightly more upscale, non-chain place like this. And, yes, they look and feel like a chain, but they’re independently-owned, so please support them.

Despite some early not-so-positive reviews, this place is a diamond in the rough. More of a restaurant atmosphere, this is a very large brewpub complete with a huge bar, dining area, lounge area, and patio area (I sat in the dining area, which was very nice). Very beautiful paintings on the wall (including an awesome mural of workers picking pecans from pecan trees) and even the bathrooms are very nice. The beer menu offers some adventurous selections (including a pecan ale and a green chile ale) plus your regulars. They may not be brewed on premises, but they sure are tasty! The food menu is also extensive and for a place that serves high quality food in such a nice restaurant, it is also really cheap! Based on other reviews, I thought this would be a quick stop for a tick and some good food, but it actually turned out to be a really good brewpub. I will go back if I can.

A somewhat dimly lit, spacious, elegantly decorated interior, which, while not bustling, still seemed pleasantly quieter than you would expect for the amount of patrons. Twelve beers on tap, which included a very pecan-y pecan beer and a mild green chile beer in addition to brewpub standards and even a 5.5% Belgian brown. $3.50/pint for most. Service was honest that the chile beer was more of a novelty than something you’d want to consume much of, and was perfectly attentive and pleasant otherwise. I only tried one of the brewpub standards, the stout, but found it quite tasty, along with the novelties. Food menu was innovative, using a lot of the standard NM ingredients in unique ways. Quality of the food was also very good, all very fresh product, and I found the prices to be more than reasonable. A very pleasant surprise.

Went here with a group for dinner, and we were very disappointed. The food was fair, at best, and overpriced, and the service was awful. The beer selection was bland, and the beer itself was mediocre.

Just to let everybody know, the beer here is brewed by Sierra Blanca in Morarity and shipped down however, they are using recipe’s that are their own. beer is average at best but the food is pretty good. A little sterle in terms of its ambience-very contemporary and kind of lifeless. lots of good "scenery" though-the waitresses wear very short skirts and stiletto heals-cant go wrong with the eye candy!
