Visited on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was filled with old locals. It’s old fashioned and slightly shabby brown café with a few taps and small bottle selection with no surprises. As a Ratebeer location, not worth a visit. As an atmospheric bar in the center, nice enough to stop off for a beer at.

The classic cafe on the Grote markt with fantastic atmosphere and good service. Smallish but adequate beer list . The perfect place for a Bolleke. I assume it was the owner of the Ben Bengel next door who changed the name of this entry to Den Bengel. That café is of little interest and not worth visiting and interfering with the ratings of rival establishments is plain wrong. So make sure to visit DEN ENGEL and avoid BEN BENGEL.

Typical big tourist pub at Antwerp,s main square. Nothing special on the list, had ,y favorite Moeder Overste. Servicde is whar one can expect at this location.

You can say what you want, people. The authenticity, location and the tapped De Koninck, makes this bar a winner.

Well-known pub in the old centre of Antwerp. Attracts lots of tourists. Beer list is basic: your classic ’bolleke’ De Koninck from tap, some trappists... The most interesting I found here (years ago) was a Westmalle Dubbel of a few years old which had matured gracefully. Otherwise: not really an interesting place for those visiting Antwerp for the beer.

Central location, so very crowded. Not very good selection. An average touristy spot in Antwerp. Preferable to sit outside and admire the view.
