Recommended by various locals as the go-to place for a pint of bitter in Keswick - although to be honest it didn’t have a much larger or wider selection than most other pubs we tried in the town. Nice old style building, about six cask ales plus the usual kegs and bottles. Beer range fairly typical of the local area, lots of bitters and golden ales, decent, traditional English rather then crafty. A good spot that seems to have been rated rather harshly.

One of the most dog friendly pubs I’ve ever been in, sometimes there seems to be more dogs than drinkers! It has a selection of 7 or 8 local ales, dominated by blondes/ golden ales, designed to be glugged after a good walk. The house specialty is goulash, which now comes in meat and veggie options. Stocks a variety of beers from the Keswick brewery.

A busy town centre pub with six hand pumps dispensing local ales. Worth visiting along with the similar Wainright just up the road for a beer or two, but don’t expect to discover any world beating beers here.

Old World style pub that with its mix of stone and wood that gives it a lot of charm. It prides itself on being the most dog friendly pub in Keswick - and anyone that has spent time in Keswick will know that this is dog central of the Lakes. It has a fine selection of ales, some local and equally its clientele can be a mix of ramblers, day trippers and locals. Situated just off the main square with its Moot Hall this is an appealing place for an afternoon drink or maybe a few more in the evening.
