74 The ambiance in this place is very nice, almost like a really large brown bar. They have a nice selection of bottled beers and taps, though they don’t emphasize local beer. Also, good crab cakes. |
74 Visited Monday lunchtime. Fairly big place down by the harbor. Beer selection is not huge, but flights are available for tastings. Friendly and helpful service and nice enough lunch. |
76 Had lunch and a flight of beers. Nothing too exceptional, but the list did include 10 On draft at the Federal House in Annapolis. Pours or so decent micro brews. Nice crab soup. |
80 NIce amount of taps, good rotating. Good food, but DJ comes in later in the night. one of the best beer bars in downtown annapolis. |
70 I was pretty surprised to see this place rated so low. It appears that they have improved things significantly based on some of the reviews. There is still a good smattering of macros, but there is a decent selection of craft on tap and in bottles including Delirium Noel this time of year. Out of all the places in old town Annapolis, this one had the broadest selection of beer. Staff were friendly and were eager to provide insight on beer selection. Lots of dark stained wood and exposed brick gave the place a comfy feel. I didn’t try the food, so I can’t speak for that. I would recommend stopping here if you are in the downtown area. |
70 Pretty standard bar with not too exciting of a beer offering. Service is great and they rotate their taps pretty regularly and get new local beers in (flying dog) and some others from time to time. This has become my go to beer bar in Annapolis. |
46 Tons of taps but all macros save for a handful of Sam Adams, maybe one local Maryland beer, and Fraziskaner/Paulaner type deal. Food looked good and slightly upscale. No reason to go here just for the beer. |
62 I was in Annapolis for business and stopped in the Federal House a few times during my stay. Annapolis is a touristy town and many bars to choose from. Beer selection @ Federal House had local beers available. Service and food were good. Off-season, grabbing a seat at the bar and talking about Terps basketball while enjoying a few pints of Flying Dog and eating crabcakes was an enjoyable experience @ the Federal House. |
74 This place was a pleasant surprise as I was looking for something in downtown Annapolis on Black Friday & all my regular spots had a wait. In an historic building right on the waterfront, the place had that quirky old feeling to it, but they have made it comfortable w/o loosing the charm of the place. Had @ 20 taps & 12-14 were Micros; pleanty of Clipper City (Including the pale ale as their house brew) Boddingtons, Spaten Oktoberfest, Some Sam’s Seasonals, DFH 60...Nothing super rare but pleanty to choose from that was a lot better than standard Macro Swill (although they had some of that too!) Mostly basic bottle list. Food was very good; a little pricey, but you are in Downtown Annapolis & they had some decent lunch specials which weren’t quite as bad. Steamed Shrimp & Clam Chowder were quite good. I’d recommend this place if you are looking for something in Downtown Annapolis. |
