Saturday afternoon visit on a very hot summer day. Sat at the bar at the end farthest from the pizza oven, whose heat you can definitely feel if close to it. Friendly and attentive bartender. Great taplist with several just released locals. Extensive bottle list. 4oz pours available. I did not eat, but i expect the food to be similar to their other NoVa location which is good. I like this place, will definitely return.
Visited a couple years ago. Itís got a cool hipster vibe, very different from the more warm friendly vibe of the Leesburg location. They do a good job with tap list, I just wish it had some of the soul that the other location has.

Visiting this place, located in the busy area of Arlington, was the first and only reason for setting my foot on the old Confederate soil. It is a big restaurand with a looooooong and curvy bar. The staff are very friendly and service-minded as well as quite knowledgeable. The selection is impressive. There may be íonlyí 33 taps but they are accompanied by well over the 110 bottles listed here. I havenít tasted the food but the menu definitely looks appetizing. I will be back again someday.
Fireworks seems to be a relative newcomer to the Clarendon scene, which was once graced by the late and lamented Dr. Dremo - their former location now a construction site a few blocks away. It sits on a corner with a blazing patio fireplace beckoning all to enter. The interior is sleek and attractive, high ceilngs and large storefront windows allowing for plenty of natural light. Of course, one finds the usual array of plasma TVs and booths all about. The bar is a large one that curves inward. The walls are adorned with scads of beer paraphenalia. The tap list of about 5o oft rotating selections was excellent - and included 2 casks (and they fill growlers.) Something for everyone if that something is beer. The server passed the Water Test, so nary a complaint in this area.
Then there is the wood stove pizzaí while not as great as those serves at Flatbread (Burlington, VT), their pies were tasty and of managable portions. (I chose the 10" Quattro Carne.0 They seem to have a reasonable Happy Hour, including Sunday until 5pm. And for those who wish avoiding parking hassles, the Courthouse Metro (Orange Line) is a few blocks away.
One Issue: I deducted points for "Atmosphere" because they allowed children at the bar. Sorry, this is a serious peeve for me.
Visited mid-afternoon on a Tuesday. I was looking for a place near parking, and close to a Metro stop. This was perfect for the bill. New, modern space that showcases the draft the system to the left and the pizza to the right. There are about 10 bar spots, and a whole bunch of tables. The draft and bottle list was solid, and the food smelled really great. Service was prompt, overall this place fit the bill.
70 = ★★Ĺ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.
I liked this place. Kegs and bottles are visible on your left as you walk in. Both tap and bottle lists are large and include some unique offerings I havenít seen elsewhere. Flights and individual samplers are available. The pizza was OK, and there is a lunch special of a personal pizza and a salad for 8 bucks. The larger entree salads were creative and very flavorful. I came for lunch, but would return to explore the beer list in the evening.
Iíve been here for a few happy hours over the last few months. Aroma upon entry last time was that of nice fresh pizza dough. Like the music selection - very interesting. Wait staff is a mixed bag - some are great, some are too busy to really give you full attention - a few orders were mixed up, but I was content with my brews regardless.
My sister and I have been to the original location in Leesburg a lot so we couldnít wait to try the new location. Itís located in a part of Residence Inn right across the street from some sort of Navy building which has a convenient parking garage. Everything is bigger here: more space, more menu items, 3 times the taps with a couple on cask. It caters to the young professional crowd so itís a lot louder on a Saturday night. Thus the service wasnít quite as attentive as the other one. The
Pizza is as good as the other location and they do a good job of stocking local craft. Itís a solid place but I donít think weíre giving up Leesburg anytime soon.
