92 Located on a corner where Puutarhakatu crosses Häämenpuisto. Horseshoe structured room with the bar in centre. Topped with a row of La Trappe antique bottles close to the ceiling. Three beer dudes at work there at my visit on Melancholy Friday. Impressive content in beerfrigerator, belgian and czech tempts. Kitchen had a dozen gastronomic beer friendly dishes. Very good gastropub beerspot. |

54 Generic feeling gastropub with a pretty mediocre taplist. However, they happened to have three sahtis on tap when I went, so I took the opportunity to try them. No flights and the smallest serving size is generally 0.25L, but I convinced the bar staff to pour me smaller pours. Some decent bottles available - and available for take away if under 5.5%. Prices are standard for Finland (read: ridiculous). Staff are pretty nonchalant, typical Finnish coldness, but astute and reasonable. Worth a stop. |
72 Nice place but too often crowdy. Good choice of beers, ciders and other alcoholic drinks. Personnel should pay more attention to customers, simple "hello" when entering/leaving would be nice. |
70 As a local, it’s not always easy just to walk in and have a beer from the admittedly great selection. First of all, there’s only two or three tables available for those who aren’t going to eat, and the space is cramped. Sometimes there are people eating at these tables too. Secondly, there’s no list of beers to browse -- the folder containing the items isn’t up to date, and the staff cannot tell you which beers they’ve got in store at the moment. The open floor fridges are a nice touch, but you’re blocking the waiters when you’re going through them, and if you take too long, you start to feel the eyes on your back. Which leads to my third point -- even if there are experts among the staff, often the people at the counter know very little about beers and may be more interested in chatting between themselves than getting the service going. At times it’s been uncomfortable, but that’s on a bad day. |

92 A great place for Belgian beers! And, they have more than 150 bottles! Good service and the staff know their beers. Quite crowded, but the man who served me had time to chat about beers and give recommendations. He showed me an impressive list of beers from Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia an Hungary, their latest private import from Eastern Europe. Beers from Hungary are not common to find in the Nordic countries. I later asked for more Finnish craft beer and I was recommended their sister pub, Gastropub Nordic. (Visited June 27th 2014) |
68 I visited the place on August. I didn’t manage to find any variety of known beer etiquettes. The food, though, was good. It’s an expensive restaurant. |
92 Very nice place. The selection varies a bit, but usually they have lots of beers (own imported Belgians, Polish or German beers) as well as "their" standard Belgians. Usually you can find a place to sit, and the service has been extremely good every time I’ve been there, so staff knows what they serve. The food is maybe a bit on the expensive side, but then again it’s very good as well. The place does get very crowded in the evenings (especially weekends), so if you’re in for beer rating or enjoying lambics, I recommend you go there quite early. Apart from Beer Hunters in Pori, this is my favourite place to drink in Finland. |
