Grain and Gristle

Second visit here on my second trip to Portland. Second time because I loved it so much the first time. I took a group of people here this visit and they all loved the place. The food is the primary draw. The beer is good and complementary to the food...but not a deep list. You’ll like the place...staff is great and knowledgeable. The décor is wood cabin like in an eclectic way. Nice stop if traveling between downtown and the airport.

Been here twice, on my two most recent visits to Portland. Pleasant atmosphere and great service. Great food. The 2-fer is a wonderful deal; in fact, that’s what we’ve had both times: a meal for two with two beers for $20. Somewhat limited tap list, but all beers are good: eight taps, with two or three of them Upright brews. Be sure to check out the beautifully carved maple bar. Love this place!

Stopped here for dinner on a Saturday night. It was a full house and there was a waiting list, so we just enjoyed a couple of beers before hand. Taplist was excellent for only 12 beers, with 4 (mostly very limited) Upright beers and some other local stuff. The "2-fer" deal is great: $20 gets you a pre-set meal for two and two 12 oz. beers, but was sold out by the time we sat down for dinner. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a thoroughly delicious meal. Highly recommended place.
