Nice location in NoDa, parking availability, indoor/outdoor seating, and large enough to accommodate a large number of people. I like the spot but the beer and food can leave you feeling a bit lacking. Not terrible beer but stiff competition in that area makes this an option more for the atmosphere more than anything.
Visited on a busy Sunday afternoon when they have an excellent buffet Sunday brunch. Tried most of the beers; all were good or better. Only 7 beers on tap but this is a innovative brewery with a rotating tap list and a good variety of brews on tap at any one time. Excellent, attentive service. A true gastro-brewpub with as much emphasis on food as on the beer.
I never visited Heist before they switched brewers, but Iíve really like what Iíve had so far. Spacious rustic-industrial look. Several options on tap, mainly focused on Belgian styles, IPAs, and a stout or two. They regularly have a handful of experimental small batches. Some of the IPAs have been stellar, and nothing has been below average to me. The food Iíve had so far (burgers) was awesome. Itís just down the road from NoDa and Birdsong, and honestly this would be the first place Iíd go of the three.
Open, dimly lit restaurant, with lots of TVs about, but they arenít intrusive. Trendy art on the walls, and a huge window into the brewery itself. The servers were friendly and attentive, and seemed to actually know the beer well. They have a wonderful spread of tasty beer, but almost exclusively Belgian styles. Donít go here expecting seven varieties of IPA. The food is very upscale, and delicious. Iíd highly recommend the Sunday brunch. The food is very pricy, but the beer is quite reasonably priced at $5.50. This is the place in Charlotte for delicious beer and outstanding food.
This place is awesome. Ample parking, and nice wait staff. This place gets busy. I mean really busy. They have a bar area, outside seating, and a fairly large indoor seating area. The decor is very cool in the bar. All of the beer was very good. The bartender was great and took good care of us. If you dont have time to hit all of the breweries in Charlotte, make sure this is top on your list, you dont want to miss it. They have a full menu, though I didnt try anything, what I saw from the bar looked good. Beer lineup was good. Recommended.
Very crowded and trendy with a crowd that may have little interest in beer. A do it yourself Bloody Mary bar and 50+ bourbons do take away from the beer. Service was great with a very professional bartender, who unfortunately had the service down pat, but beer knowledge was a bit poor. Didnít eat. Prices were reasonable and bartender offered samples of stuff we didnít order. Fun and easy, while being close to many other places make this a recommendation. Out of the way and I wouldnít bother.
This was a super experience. The service was excellent from Louisa. The Jerk Chicken was very good. I met the supervisor and had some of the new beer for Sunday. The building was formerly a paper mill and a night club. The conversion was excellent. it a small brewery with10 barrel fermenters.
Nice little brewpub. More of a small plate style menu with a Gastropub feel. The beers were pretty solid. Our service was okay, but a little intermittent/slow. Better than I expected, honestly. Iíll definitely be back.
Visited on a Tuesday evening. Easy to find, large parking lot behind the brewery. Large, renovated building is very pretty to look at as you approach. The interior is L shaped with a bar as you enter, and a big loud space beyond that area. Fun atmosphere, seemed to be several large groups hanging out. 9 of their own beers on, as well as an extensive bar selection. Good variety of styles. Prompt and professional service. Beers are available by the glass, flight or pitcher. Appeared to have a solid food menu, though I didnít eat.
76 = ★★★ (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.
