76 I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. There are some sidewalk tables, but they were too hot during a mini heatwave. Inside was much more comfortable with a long L-shaped bar and some restaurant tables. The barman was hilarious, and a good source of info on the local beer and food scene. Eight beers on tap, all were local and interesting. Food was elevated pub food, almost gastropub, with a handful of veggie options, a welcome sight. Solid place. |
76 Passed by on my way to Civic, finally found the place, nice selection of local beers. Too bad, no imports. Very kind staff. |
68 Visited in January 4, 2017, at noon. Just a block away from Tooth and Nail, is this nice country style restaurant, very brightly lit. Small tap list (8), all local brews and about the same amount in bottles. Not big but a good variety in the food menu, not cheap thought but looks delicious, I had the HPH green salad (nice). The service was good, attentif and plaisant. A good alternative to the Wellington Gastropub not too far from here. |
72 Visited on a Wednesday evening. Hipster-vibed pub, artworks on the walls, mismatched furniture, deer antlers over the bar. 8 beers on tap and about a dozen bottles/cans. Regulars and seasonals from local breweries as well as Ontario’s usual suspects (Beau’s, Muskoka, etc.). Good food and service. |
66 A neighbourhood bar with funky decor and some odd touches like the draft menu is wrapped around a wine bottle sort of thing. There’s also artwork on the wall from local artists. Small taplist with beers from Beyond the Pale, Beau’s, Kichesippi and Muskoka. The food was OK but small portions for the price. The two ladies working were pleasant but ditzy and it eventually became irritating. Worth stopping by if you’re heading to Beyond the Pale which is a little further up the road. |
62 Bar trying too hard to be hipster. Mismatched tables that rock, garage sale cutlery and dishes. Food is alright although overpriced. Beer selection although good is a bit small on the tap list. |
76 Pour diner. Pas mal cool, sélection de draft locales correct. La bouffe était bonne. Place chill, vieille, déco cheesy et cool comme ça. |
78 Its an eclectic pub with mismatched wooden tables, interesting artwork from local artists on the walls, strange china and a great home vibe that makes you want to sit and realx for a while. Tables are close together and it can get noisy or crowded depending on the time but that’s ok - just go at a different time if you want a more relaxed feel. Food is outstanding and the local taps are top notch even though it would be nice if they had a bit more. Service is friendly and relatively fast. I wouldn’t say that this should be a place to go to for just beer or ticks, however if you want a very good meal at a resonable price and a few pints at the same time then this may be your best bet in Ottawa...and there is a nice long bar and many tables that you can just relax at and drink away the night. |
70 HPB is a super cool pub with a nice wooden late bar, recycled old furniture, found art, the theme here is recycled old construction material. The service is friendly and the food is good, if a bit pricey. Well reviewed for their burgers, Six beers on tap, 3 local and 3 Canadian craft brews, with decent pricing (6.50$). A nice addition to the Hintonburg neighbourhood. |
