58 Not really cozy, but fair enough. Decent selection, both on tap and bottles it seems. Nothing too exciting, but fair service and some tables outdoor for enjoying the sunny days in the summer. Hardly worth a detour, but worth a look if one happens to be in the neighbourhood. |
76 My local pub. Cozy place with a true living room vibe to it, especially on weekend afternoons or weekday nights when it is usually not very crowded (weekend nights it always is). Decent selection but there are plenty of places in Helsinki that offer much more. Usually drafts include Finnish micros. Also a sports pub with good coverage of football and ice hockey shown regularly on a big screen. |
72 Very cozy place with excellent beer selection. No complaints. |
62 English-style pub a bit north of the city center. Part of a chain of pubs, so the selection is limited to whatever they offer - mostly big brands, although there’s usually something from most styles of beer available. Somewhat sports- oriented. Wooden furniture and leather couches. |
72 Pretty nice place. Feels cozy with the candles and furnishing. Unfortunately football on the big screen. I can imagine with hockey it gets really annoying. Good service, food looked good too. Soup, sandwiches and the like. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. Pretty good selection too as well as cheap prices on the halves. |
60 Good selection of european beers. |
62 Typical Kalaravintola pub as said. Small and crowded. Ice hockey on big screen with really high volume. "Teemaviikot" German selection quite limited. |
68 Quite cosy, even though rather typical Kalaravintolat pub. Quick service, and if something was sold out, the barstaff could quickly recommend something similar. The times I’ve been here it’s been quite crowded (no matter at what time you go). A few times music has been playing a bit loud, otherwise it’s been all good. |
58 Of the two Töölö Fish pubs, this is the popular one. Rather packed and noisy when we were there. However, the staff are prepared to actually sell you beer with less than a 10 minute wait, which makes them vastly preferable. Standard Fish Pub selection, which is good, you’ll not ever be short of something tasty to drink. |
66 "The Thirsty Salmon" is definitely one of my favorite hangouts in Helsinki. It’s a friendly neighbourhood bar which is part of the growing conglomerate of beer-oriented bars in and around the city. Also includes several other bars named after fish and the four William K’s. Spring 2005 features drafts from Finnish Microbrewery Stadin Panimo, which are definitely worth a detour. The bartenders here are friendly and love to recommend beers from the quite large selection. |
