I was lucky to visit this place on a quiet evening so I was able to enjoy a beer seating by a window. I say lucky because from what I read it's usually crowded and loud. Self service (I mean you have to go to the bar to order a beer), nice ambiance. I found some interesting beers on tap and from what I saw there were many different bottles in the fridge. OK prices. I didnt try the food.
This place is too loud in the evening to enjoy a beer and a talk. It’s more a place to get drunk than a place for beer lovers.
The taps selection is decent and quite big. Bottle selection is mostly stuff you can easily get at any Systembolaget. Great selection of foreign lagers if you are interested
Visited Marts 2017. Large corner pub in the city center. Down stair bar as well. Very noisy and busy this evening when we visited. Beers served in ok condition by the working staff. Long tables gave lots of seatings. Easy to find, worth a visit if in the area..
Despite its name, this is not a brewpub but a beer bar with the "house beer" IPA-Nema brewed at the nearby Stigbergets Bryggeri. The bar opened three years ago, summer 2012, and is kept in an open, modern style with white washed concrete walls, ceramic tiles and wooden paneling along the bar and on the lower parts of the walls. Large windows towards Järntorget and the side street lets in the daylight so the room felt clean and well lit. A sign said the pub can take 200 guests, in addition there’s also a pub in the cellar, which opens when the main pub gets crowded. I counted 22 taps, many of them Wisby but also some interesting local beers such as Stigbergets and All in Brewing. The sign outside claimed 250 bottled varieties. Atmosphere at daytime was quiet, so I enjoyed a few beers and a good conversation. The pub also serves hot food but I did not try any. Visited: 2015-05-01.
Big, popular bar right on the square. Well lit, airy, lots of windows. This is by no means a hipster bar, unless you consider anyone under 30 to be a hipster. This is a mainstream, if upscale-ish, young persons bar. A hipster bar would have better beer! They only have 4 guest taps, only 1 or 2 of which would be on interest to someone familiar with the Swedish beer scene. Granted, that’s better than 99% of bars in Sweden, but considering the other choices in the neighborhood, it’s not really a beer destination. It’s a great place to meet up with friends or large groups. They laso lose points for having Brygghus in their name but not actually brewing anything.
