66 Great tavern...very good bar food...good people. What more do you want? Oh yeah...on this site we’re talking craft beers. Well they are a bit weak in this area. They were traditionally macros but in the past few years have been adding some decent craft taps and a few good bottles. The last time I was their they had Lagunitas IPA on tap...so that’s a good thing. But crafts are not their priority. Still...great place to hang out and to eat. |
54 Pretty standard selection of beers for a restaurant, with a couple of micros, but mostly macros/Boston Beer on tap. The food is also fine, but nothing special. Certainly not a beer destination. |
74 The Mahwah Bar & Grill is a very good bar/restaurant/tavern in northern NJ. Good selection of beers, including a few locals (Keegan Ale’s Mothers Milk Stout as of May 2011), as well as Sam Adams seasonals, a few foreign choices (Frankiskaner Hefe-Weiss, Stella) and others. Ambiance depends on the room in which you sit; there are several ’wings’ of this old tavern and some are cozy, some are more tavern-like. Service was great when I was there, and the food was very good American tavern fare - chili and nachos were fantastic, sandwiches were very good. Nice spot for dinner and a few pints! |
