O.H.S.O Eatery + nanoBrewery

Stopped in with Kara and Patty after I had to walk around shopping area. Just had a NEIPA and a cheese/meat board. Really nice new place. Friendly staff and the beer was good too. I think they had about 12 of theirs on tap.

Loved this place. Tons of beers, tons of different styles, some were very good, none were bad. Good food, cool place all around. We spent way more time here than we had planned on.

A restaurant with some beers. Too much aroma of food for me to enjoy. Some of the beers OK, one very good.

Gorgeous place and wonderfully set up place. There are several inside sections to sit, and a large balcony that overlooks a beautiful desert mountain view. Three dozen taps, more than half of which are their local beers -- available for order in flights or single pours (3 oz. pours, which are awesome for tickers). House beers are decent-to-good quality. Service is extremely friendly and helpful. Didn’t order food, but they had some vegetarian and vegan options, so points for that. This being my second O.H.S.O. location visit, I’ve now enjoyed both of them, this one probably being the better of the two. Recommended for a comfortable, beautiful visit.

You’ve got to love the concept. A dream proejct for many homebrewers, likely a nightmare for managers, and one which has grown into many locations. A few guest taps and many brews made either on site or at other locations allow for a lot of variety on draught. Still, the 5 beers I’ve tasted while there were subpar. Perhaps it’s just hit or miss, as the concept would justify, but this felt underwhelming for the time of my evening there. Service though, was agreeable and seemingly knowledgeable. The crowd was pleasant enough, but there was not room on the rear-end patio which seems very comfy and brags nice mountain viewd. Inside, it was dark and frankly unimpressive with the laquered plywood table, kinda divey, but too large to be charmingly divey. Food though, was pretty good for pub grub. The shrimp tacos and meaty Mac n Cheese were very satisfying. All in all, it seems to be an experience which may vary a lot based on where you are seated and what are the brews of the moment.

Visited after work on a Wednesday. Smaller parking lot, though valet parking was available and needed on this scorching day. The building looks a bit older, with an older interior with a big bar area and a seperate area for seating. Also has a back patio that I didn’t check out. 22 house beers on in a wide variety of styles. Beers are available as pints, pitchers and 32 and 64 oz growlers. 3 oz tasters available max 4. Also had 8 local guest and 6 national guest beers. Food is fairly straightforward pub menu. Attentive service, fun crowd. Decent whiskey selection available with flights of 3 1 oz pours. Fun place.

Kicked off the day early lunch time and already the back bar was busy. Great choice of beers including about 1/3 locally made stuff which i found to be very good from the many varied samples I had from across the spectrum. Being happy hour i opted for a 32oz pitcher of "Hoppy" for $6. The working brewery was on full view as was an interesting list of beers to be made in collaboration with and for customers. The devil burger was delicious. I used the very convenient 41 bus to get here from central so could fill my boots ! Very friendly bar staff - I was recommended to stop off at a small bar called ThePigsMeow on the way back on the 41 for further sampling......

So this is an upscale brewpub restaurant, pretty packed at 5PM on a Saturday, but I found a place at the bar. It looks pretty nice inside, kind of standard brewpub feel, separate dining rooms around. Food looked to be upscale pub fare, and was priced to match. Tap list is a mix of maybe 2/3 guest beers, focus on local products, and their own brews, which I understand to be generally "collaborations" with home brewers. The OHSO beers are available as about 2 oz tasters for $1 each. I tried two to get the ball rolling. Both were gross. I had no desire to stay after that. In retrospect, I like the concept a lot, but: (1) there is something sell-outy about a pretentious upscale place being the home of the "Outrageous Homebrewers Social Outpost" - this is just not the vibe that most homebrewers I know are looking for when going out in public. (2) based on my albeit limited sampling, they need to seriously get a handle on quality control. Serving homebrew collabs is cool, but if they are shit, it brings the whole concept down. I guess I am in the minority here, but I don’t plan on going back.

Une ambiance fragmentée en plusieurs morceaux dont une belle terrasse industrielle à l’arrière. La liste de fûts invités étaient plus que satisfaisante et le concept de ’’brew your own’’ est intéressant même si inégal. Dans l’ensemble, une belle expérience avec un staff à la hauteur.
